Al was a treasured friend, one of the really good people in Trenton. I was always comfortable dealing with him because he had a sense of humor and a sense of pride in what he did. It's with sincerity that I say I miss him. I can only hope his loved ones take comfort in knowing how great a person he was.
Dear Cindy and family -
Although no one truly comprehends the loss that you feel, the sadness that you are going through, and the pain that sometimes seems more than you can bear just know that your friends and family are there for you. Remember your Dad and with each memory know that those we've loved live on in our hearts. I am so sorry for your loss.
We are terribly sorry for the loss of your husband and father. We did not know him, but from people who knew him, including your realtor, we heard he was an amazing, brilliant, kind gentlemen. Please accept our condolesences. Judy and Richard Adam
Al was my friend and mentor.
The Department of the Public Advocate and Office of the Public Defender oftentimes handled volatile and controversial matters. He was always on top of his game (he would appreciate my use of a sports metaphor) and never caved under pressure. He ensured thorough, accurate and prompt reporting. He responded to a standard citizen inquiry with the zeal others may have reserved for government officials. He was the epitome of the platinum standard for public information officers.
Al made what could have been a stressful job a fun and rewarding experience. I tried to become a better writer because of Al; I know I became a better person because of his influence. My deepest condolences to his family. Caroline Petrilla
