Andy Griffith

From a member of the public who knew him only by the characters he portrayed through his life's work, Mr. Griffith had a magical quality that was endearing, one that made a person feel comfortable, accepted and protected. A person couldn't help but feel as though s/he knew him personally. This must have been both a blessing and a curse for him. Although he did not know me, the mark he made on my life through his work bears significance: his passing was a personal loss to me. I was deeply saddened by his death, but now have comfort knowing of his prior acceptance of Jesus as Lord and Savior, knowing he dwells in heaven. Having no choice in the matter of saying goodbye to a loved one is the most painful part of life. My condolences to Mr. Griffith's family, and my appreciation to them for the sacrifices they surely have had to make because of his fame. Thank you, Andy Griffith, for the life lessons and secure feeling you gave us all as Andy Taylor in Mayberry. You live on in our hearts. With much love.

I watch the Andy Griffith Show every day. I'm 62 years old and even though I've seen every show over and over again in my lifetime - I still get a wonderful and cozy feeling of such comfort each and every episode. I miss Andy, Barney, Opie, Aunt Bea and all the rest - but Andy Griffith was always like a sweet uncle of father figure to me. I miss him every day and I am not ashamed to say that I loved (and still do love) him with all my heart. I wish every day that I could have met and shook his hand. He and the rest of the cast are surely in heaven and will be paid handsomely by God for the wonderful good they all did in this world. God Bless your sweet and kind soul Mr. Griffith and keep you sitting in his warm sunlight in the grass enjoying wonderful picnics and laughter with all of those who are in heaven with you. I hope to be with you and introduce myself to you one day. See you soon Sheriff! :)

We are sadden with the loss of Andy Griffith. We have lost a good friend. We thank him for his contribution to the industry. We, as children and adults, learned so much from him and his show. He will never be forgotten. RIP Andy, we love you!
