To my dear cousins: I am so sorry about another loss in our big family. May your hearts be filled with warm thoughts and treasured moments of Bruce.
"Uncle" Bruce lived the words "friend", "patriot", "brother". He always stayed faithful to his convictions, lived by a code of honor and loyalty. The Vietnam experience shaped a big part of his identity, and was proud to have served his country.
I had the honor of sharing some of the most important aspects of Uncle Bruce's character through a shared trip with my father and brother to Vietnam to walk in past footsteps, and various Spring Training vacations in Arizona to watch the Cubs and hear the battle cry of Woo Woo.
These experiences with a man of tradition, principle, and honor who lived the old code will forever be cherished, and I am a better man through the sharing of family and brotherhood with my Uncle Bruce. May you be forever at peace. Until we meet again...

Bruce was a true and loyal friend for over 43 years. We served together in Vietnam and maintained a strong positive relationship throughout the years. Bruce and I traveled back to Vietnam together in 1999 for our 30th anniversary. An informal uncle to both my sons, Bruce will be remembered by all as firm in his convictions and dedicated to the advancement of veteran causes. Of course not to be forgotten are all those Spring Baseball trips to Arizona to see the Cubs again and again fill us with hope that 'this is the year'. Bruce is the brother I never had, and a friend who will never be forgotten. May God Bless You and Keep You Safe in His Arms.
Bruce and my father were kindred spirits. They shared so many common interests. I will never forget the kind words he shared at my father's funeral last year. God bless you and keep you Bruce.
Gone but never forgotten. I always admired my Uncle Bruce. I thought he was a celebrity when I was a kid, because he was a veteran but also because he worked for the Chicago Times. He was so joyful and fun to be around. There's a glad reunion day in heaven now. Im sure he and dad are having a great time! Love and hugs!
