I am sorry to hear of Charles' passing. I knew Charles from his days teaching Transcendentalist Writers at the Altoona Campus, about 25 years ago. I was an adult student in his evening class. He also taught a class on the American Western Novel that I enjoyed Charles was in the early stages of writing "Friends". I was doing a lot of writing too, at that time. We used to critique one another's work and I learned so much from him. I am proud to have been one of the first people to have ever read "Friends" in manuscript form. I cherish the signed copy he gave to me.
I hadn't seen Charles in years, but oddly enough, through some kind of Facebook email search, Charles became my first ever Facebook friend a few years back. Interactions with him online were always fun and I will miss reading comments from him. In fact, it was because I was missing not seeing his Facebook visits or reading his comments that I found out that he had passed. So when I say that he will be missed, I mean it. I already do.
I regret that I hadn't gotten down there to his place in Port Matilda. He always spoke lovingly of Barb and I remember meeting Barb once or twice in State College, I think in the house on Gill Street. My sincere condolences to Barb and the family.

I met Charles (Dogtrick as I knew him on line) in Barrie Ontario at a jam out in a field. He was a character for sure and the kind of person that made the jams so interesting. My condolences to his wife, family and friends.

Tis hard for me to learn of this, for Charles was a blessing to all. His talents were many and we shared music and BBQ together... I shall forever miss him in song and word and also in friendship

R.I.P. old buddy. We had a lot of laughs on paltalk and a great visit when you were here in Canada for our jam, couple years ago. Sincerest condolences to Barbara and the family
