Victor Hugo said, "When I go down to the grave I can say like many others, 'I have finished my day's work' but I cannot say, 'I have finished my life's work'; my day's work will begin the next morning . The tomb is not a blind ally. It is an open thoroughfare. It closes in the twilight to open in the dawn. My work is only beginning; my work is hardly above its foundation. I would gladly see it mounting forever. The thirst for the infinite proves infinity."
Our love and thoughts are with our friend Dave as he begins his eternal work with his eternal companion. We love them!

How do you memorialize a giant of a man? I spent a substantial portion of my childhood at the side of this great man, whom I was privileged to call my "Pa." He taught me many things throughout my life; and always has always been a source of encouragement, security, and love.

I will always cherish the memories of rising early with Pa to do the "chores" on the Ponderosa; hunting for deer in the mountains above Joseph, UT; fishing with his friends near Koosharem, UT; going on vet calls to care for distressed animals; boisterously cheering for Karl Malone and the Utah Jazz; and our weekly phone calls with each other - which ended just a few weeks ago.

Pa, I know you are reunited with your beloved Beverly now, along with your father, Wood, and your countless other loved ones. Please look down on us from time-to-time, and make sure we are towing the line. I will love you forever; and I thank you for your example ...
