Dear Cook Family-
I read about Doug's passing. He was such an amazing man, we will ALL miss him terribly. But also know that we will see him again in the new system of things. Dear sweet Betty, I love you dearly and miss you so much, and want to thank you both for your friendship, support & love you showed to me.
Condolences and sympathy from EDM International
Yesterday I was reminded of Doug as I transported a piece of furniture he made for my Mom over 20 years ago. I am reminded of the generosity he offered in giving up his home when our family moved to Alamosa. The summers I worked for Doug learning the carpentry trade were valuable to my future career. I recall it took me only one time to learn "be ready at 6:30" meant 'be ready at 6:30, not 6:31!" as I stood on my porch waiting for Doug to circle back around the block to pick me up.... He didn't.
I'm glad for the patience with the little kid that didn't know what he was doing while working, and honored that I was never told "You could be replaced by a nail" :)
I look forward to the time to see Doug 'returned to the days if his youthful vigor' (job 33:25)
Although we did not know your your grandfather, Loren, we do know the pain in your heart. From what we read he had a long, fruitful, happy life as a servant of Jehovah. We look forward to meeting him in Paradise and Jo would like for him to teach her the way to turn and form wood to bring out it's natural beauty when made into something useful. Please know that we will petition Jehovah for strength in your behalf as grief is one of Satan's most cruel & potent of weapons.
