Our names are Elena and Eduardo. We had the privilege to meet Doctor Schertz and her beloved wife Denise during their visit to our country Argentina . We are very sad for this terrible tragedy and we want to express to Denise that she can count on us . We will be always grateful for their kindness , respect and frienship . Jerry was a "White soul" following Denise´s words . We send you from Buenos Aires Argentina all our love , and we pray especially for Denise, Jerry´s wife and globetrotter for 42 years . We miss you Denise and send you hugs. God Bless both of you!!!

As a teenager, I drove my grandmother to Dr. Schertz as she was treated for cancer. I went with her for many appointments, but the first visit I was so upset and emotional as I sat quietly in the corner of the office. His words and kindness that day was engraved into my mind forever. He committed to me that with everything in him he would take good care of my grandmother. He always was so compassionate to my grandmother, and our entire family. Now I offer that very compassion back to his family.

Dr. Schertz was my father's physician during his battle with prostate cancer that had advanced to bone cancer throughout his body. Dr. Schertz was a compassionate man who was gifted in his field. He blessed so many people in his work and we were all blessed by God to have met him. My father passed in Dec. 2005 and my mother & I have not forgotten the kindness of Dr. Schertz during my father's last days. We are both saddened by this tragedy that has taken him from you. May God bless your family and provide you with comfort. Dr. Schertz will be missed.
