Dr. Jack Thompson Cappel, Jr.

My thoughts and prayers are with Dr. Jack's family. He was one of the most wonderful Dr.'s I've ever had care f or me in my lifetime. His kind, gentle and even manner always took away my fear of having to go to the Dr. once he was in the exam room or his office with you. Maybe it was a couple years ago that I had the good fortune to have him come and sit by me at Rapides while waiting to get lab work done. He was dressed in a beautiful suit, with his attire and grooming perfection. I could tell that something was different, although I don't know what it was, but the same Dr. Jack was still there regardless of age, or whatever tolls life may have presented him to deal with. He was a breath of fresh air that day, and I had an almost overpowering urge to hug him and tell him how much he did for me in my life, how much he was appreciated and how much I wish I could still have him as my Dr. and friend. He was a true Gentleman and his family must be so proud to have had him as their husband, father, grandfather, for all he contributed to this world. Goodbye Dr. Jack. Rest in Peace
Dear Jackie and family...
Jack was indeed a special gentleman and friend. We are all so blessed to have known him. He will be greatly missed by everyone who had the joy to know him.

(We are out of the country now. Otherwise we would be there with you all.)
He was one of the kindest surgeons I ever had the privilege of meeting. I will never forget those kind blue eyes. May the family find peace and comfort in these trying times.
He was truly the epitome of a southern gentleman and physician.
