Marge and family, My thoughts are with you. Fritz is one of the most influential individuals I've have the opportunity to know. Every job, appointment and school acceptance I owe to 'Doc'. He will always be legendary in many minds. Thank you Dr. Hagerman.
I was fortunate to be on Staff at Camp Decorah with Fritz. He led by example. Great guy! My condolences to the family.
I was on the Camp Decorah staff during the early '70s. Fritz would visit the camp on vacation with his family during those summers, and was always viewed as a celebrity due to his many accomplishments. Despite our more youthful advantage, he would run "the block" with us, and was VERY competitive (he would lead the whole way, and then let us win by a nose). I appreciated that he was very humble and genuinely interested in the Staff--almost like extended family members. I'm proud to have known him.
My condolences to the Hagerman Family. Doc was my graduate student advisor at OU in 1986-87. He was a wonderful mentor to me not only in the field of exercise physiology but in life. His dynamic personality and charm lit up a lab room. Everyone listened when doc gave advise. He always set the bar high and expected alot from his students but we all learned and did better in our field because of his high expectations. Thank you doc for being such an inspiration to me to continue to learn more and strive to do my best. Andrea Kosinski Colvin
Marge, Bonnie, Erik and Kris:
Fritz will always be remembered for his tenacity, his passion, his boundless energy and professional excellence and contribution to his field; I admire him so much as a loving, supportive husband and devoted father. They don't make em like that anymore. Truly a man that set the bar high for all of us. We will hold him close in our hearts!
