I met Gil in 1975 and he made such an impact on my life, I can still hear is laugh fill a room. I know he had wonderful life full of adventure, beauty and friends.
I have known Gil since I was a kid. He was the kindest person I've known and I used to look forward to the weekends when I'd see him and sit for hours in his antique store on 2nd street. I love ya' Gil.
So sorry to hear of Gil's passing. We had a lot of fun in the theatre together. I especially love the time in "Lend Me a Tenor" when he played my husband Tito, and I threatened to "make him a soprano!"
I recently ran into Gil at the grocery store and we talked a while about his cancer. He was so positive about it, and I got the feeling he'd be with us for a very long time.
He was a great man and will be very missed.
The fabulous Gil Shisler passed on Tuesday - he will be missed. Gil was one of the first friends we made in 1991 when we moved here - he gave us a crepe myrtle for our wedding in '92 - still have it and ironically just took a baby growing from it's roots on Tuesday - will plant it in Gil's memory.
Jeff, Marilyn & family...so sorry for your loss but so thankful that Gil received the Lord as his personal Savior and not only will no longer suffer but you will get to see him again.
