The family would like to express our deepest thanks to the staff of Valley County Hospice. Carol Schroeder is a truly gifted and wonderful person. Words cannot express how much it means to all of us, how well she treated our Dad. The staff made sure that my Dad had everything that he needed. A huge thank you to Roger Wells, PA. He and Carol are going to have special places in Heaven. Roger took such good care of both our mother, Shirley and our father, Harry. A special thank you to the staff at Brookefield Park. Angie Helzer was so good to work with. You treated our Dad with such dignity and respect. It is greatly appreciated.
Thank you to all of the staff at Matelyn. Dad loved it there. He was so lonely when Mom first died. You all gave him many happy days. He loved playing cards.
Thank you to all the people that honored our Dad by attending visitation and the funeral. Thank you for the memorial gifts. They will be given to the Valley County Hospice. The family would also like to thank Pastor Clark and Todd Peters for a beautiful service. The military gun salute was wonderful.
Our Dad was a truly great person. We will miss him very much but are so happy to know that he is in heaven with Mom.
Again, thank you all very much. Ann, Beth, Kim, and Tina. Harry's four daughters.
We are so sorry for your loss. Harry was such a nice person...always happy and so easy to get along with. We will remember him fondly.

When I think of Harry there is a smile that comes across my face. I hadn't seen Harry for a while now but I have very fond memories of him. I so very much enjoyed visiting him when he would come out to the gravel pit and haul sand gravel for S.E. Smith & Sons. Every once in a while he would even bring me some homemade jerky that he made and it was always delicious. He was also generous enough to give me a couple of woodworking items that he made, which I will always cherish. Harry was a kind, wonderful and generous person and a joy to be around and I know that his family will miss him dearly as well as his many friends. May you find comfort in knowing that he and Shirley are once again together enjoying each other's company. I look forward to the day when we can all be reunited again in God's Heavenly Kingdom.
Harry: What a great guy. Like so many others we'll miss him and (as noted elsewhere) his smile. Hope Shirley lets him get out to play some baseball.
May the love and the beautiful memories that you shared with your dear dad burn warm within your hearts!! He touched many lives and will be missed. Always so friendly!!! I have a diamond willow cane that I had him make for my brother years ago. It is special because Harry made it!! May the love of God surround you and grant you comfort and peace. What a joy it is to know that your dad was a redeemed child of God!! and is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior.
