James E. Gilbert

Saturday, March 10, 2012
Today, Mar 9, 2012 I received notice of Jim's answering the call of the supreme commander. Jim and I were DeVilbiss HS classmates as well as Toledo Post Island's teen gang in the 1930's. Jim was a Past Commander of Toldo Post AL 335 and we both were sponsored for membership in 1945 by our fathers. Jim chose the US Navy, I
enlisted in the US Army and became a career soldier. Jim was always a serious and very likeable fellow. TAPS are sounding every day for the WWII guys and gals. Condolences seem to be so evaporative since other than Mary all the members of his family known to me are gone.

I worked for Mr Gilbert at Gilbert Mail Service from May 1991 until June 2010. Rest in Peace, I'm sorry for the loss to his family and friends.
