Jeannie Dixon passed from this life on Tuesday, February 11, 2014. She was a native of Cumberland, Kentucky but spent the past 15 years living in Tennessee. Her career involved working with students with special needs, most recently at Halls Middle School where she dearly loved her coworkers. Jeannie was a beloved mother, “Nana” and a dear friend to many.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Myrtle Dixon; and two brothers, Jimmy and Tim Dixon.

Left to mourn her passing are her daughter Amanda, and husband Frank Smith; son Jamie Hackworth; and the absolute light of her life, her three granddaughters: Laura Michael Pace, Meredith Joy Smith and Mallory Anne Smith; four sisters: Dolly Watts, Dorothy Brown, Dixie Ray and husband David, and Joy Purdy and husband Bob; and three brothers: Kimble “Bo” Dixon and wife Joyce; Toy Dixon and wife Sandy; and her twin brother, John Dixon and wife Shelia.

Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 pm Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014 at the First Christian Church of Cumberland.

Memorial services will follow at 7 pm at the church. The speaker will be David Ray (Jeannie’s brother-in-law).
