I only knew him as Kathy's daddy, and a man who made you smile. God Bless the family with His everlasting peace.....Thank you Lord for the life you gave Jim Dandy.

I'm saddened to hear of Jims passing. Although it has been a few years I still remember quite well sailing with Jim on the Foss tugs. Excellent shipmate and a fine cook. His clam chowder is still the best I have ever had! I remember asking him one time if he knew anything about fixing a Penn fishing reel. Out comes a tackle box with every part imaginable. Had me fixed up in no time,,,no charge. He also gave me hints on salmon fishing that I still use to this day. Quite a guy. Jim....from all your friends at Foss Company... fair winds and following seas shipmate.

I was so sorry to hear that Jim passed away. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in your time of grief and may the many wonderful memories you shared with Jim bring you lasting comfort now and in the many years that follow. The last trip my uncle (Leon Hendershot) took to Stanwood, WA was with my Mother (Mildred Hendershot Hovey) who were both children of Ernest and Laura Hendershot. I remember meeting Jim many years ago when I was active duty Army at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, WA and all of us met for lunch one weekend. The one thing I have always remembered from meeting Jim was how he told me how to cook a really tender roast. Again, I am so sorry on your family's loss. With my deepest and most heartfelt sympathy,
