I have only just learned of the passing of Mr. Travis, and I wanted to express my deepest sympathy. He was a wonderful man, who gave me my first job at BHAEC in the early 80's. I still remember him calling me and how excited I was to find a job in my field. What a great principal, who had a great sense of humor. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
So very sorry to hear of John's passing. He was the first and by far the best principal I ever worked with. He had such a loving and giving heart. I think of him often and have many fond memories. What a great loss for us all. He will not be forgotten.
Mr.Travis was a great principal and made the 10 years that I worked for and with him very memorable. I truly liked special education and working with John was really great!!! He will be truly missed.
Dear Dorothy and Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
I want you to know that I was very proud to have worked with John for many years at the Black Hawk Area Education Center/Moline School District. I always admired John as a fellow educator, administrator, mentor, and friend. John always did what was in the best interest for his students, his staff, and his school. He was a true leader and he led by example. He was a man of integrity. The BHAEC has never had a better principal since his retirement in 1991.
Jean and I are very sorry for your loss. John will be greatly missed by his family, his former staff, and his friends.
