Joan passed away on Christmas Day, 2012, Mr. Lyle has been very lonely and sad and missed her very much, he's been talking about joining her lately, and today he got his wish. He was in the Bothwell Hospital, Sedalia for a simple procedure, an endoscopy and antibiotics for the inflammation in his lungs. Chuck and I visited with him that morning until 11:30 and came home. Brother Danny, their Baptist Minister went to see him that afternoon and couldn't believe he was gone. He told me he had just left his room and they had a most wonderful visit. We had a great visit with him that morning as well, he was chipper and smiling and watching the news on TV and we were discussing the Boston Marathon tragedy. We also reminisced about Jo, as we always did at some point, and he was talking about her spunky personality and that she could snap those big brown eyes at you at any given minute. We chuckled and remembered her fondly.

What a pair they were! The hardest part of growing older is you lose your best friends and family.

Wishing them peace and contentment, Mary and Chuck Smith, April 16, 2013

May the Spirit of the Lord bring you peace and comfort in your time of loss of one super, fine, Christian man. Lyle was an inspiration and joy for us to know and we cherished his and Joan's friendship. He truly cherished Joan and they are once again united. God Bless you all.
