Mr. Denning was my 5th grade teacher at LaCache. He was supportive and encouraging at all times. But he went far beyond what most of the best teachers do. In 5th grade, my dog ran away while my parents were out of town and I was staying with my grandparents. I was (am) very soft-hearted and couldn't keep from crying during the school day about my lost dog. Mr. Denning (and I believe some of his sons) rode around the Upper Little Caillou area looking for my lost dog. He didn't find him (and that rascal later came home on his own) but the fact that he was so concerned about my grief that he and his family went searching for my dog on their free time meant the world to me. I have never forgotten his extreme kindness. Rest In Peace, Mr. Denning. Thank you for caring.

Both of my children, Robert, "Bigfoot", and Katie, "Littlefoot",worked at camp Vbar with Mr. Mike for several summers. Mike was a great mentor and role model for all of the scouts. What a wonderful man. So very sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family.
