To Bea and Tom Smith, Don't know if you will remember me but I was on the SWIM team in 1966 at the South Bend Church. When I saw your name in this obituary I wanted to try to make contact with you. My sympathy to you and the whole family in the loss of your brother.
We were so sorry to hear of Norm's passing. From what I hear, he was active in the Lord's work right up to the end. It has been a real pleasure to know him and your whole family. What a blessing to have such a close family at a time like this.
Our prayers are with you all...
Too Mrs. Unema, Rod, Barry & Shelley and family, what a sudden shock, got a call from my mother, I feel for your loss.
You go back to memories..what I remember as a kid is his pancakes while camping.
Crystal - While on vacation in Montana - I received a call from Ray S from Friends of Ottawa County Parks - letting me know about Norm's sudden passing away. I was surprised and shocked as I had just talked to him about 2 weeks ago in the City Hall parking lot - he seemed very upbeat and seemed to be doing well. We talked about City business as we often would. He was interested in what was happening in the Department of Public Works. Norm was a great supporter of us here at DPW. The City of Hudsonville has been blessed by you and Norm's dedication to community and Ottawa County. He will be greatly missed! You have our sincere sympathies!
