Pawtucket – SPC Dennis “Danny” Cullen Poulin, 26, passed away surrounded by his parents, son and aunts on Thursday, March 31, 2011 in Landstuhl, Germany, from injuries sustained on March 28th in Konar Province, Afghanistan, while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. He was a Mortarman with the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 181st Infantry Regiment of the Massachusetts Army National Guard. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of Doris E. Poulin of Pawtucket and Richard H. Renau of Jacksonville, Florida. He resided in Pawtucket most of his life, residing in Cumberland from 2006 until 2008. Dennis was a 2004 graduate of William E. Tolman High School. He enjoyed wrestling; playing Dungeons & Dragons and Nero. Besides his parents, he leaves his son, Nikolous Cullen Poulin; two sisters, Jennifer Poulin and Angelique Renau; aunts and uncles, Grace and Paul Norton, Debra and Richard Higgins and Joseph and Sandra Cullen and several cousins. He was the grandson of the late Aldore and Alice Poulin and the nephew of the late Dennis Cullen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 10 a.m. in St. Teresa Church, 358 Newport Ave., Pawtucket. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITATION will be Wednesday 2 to 8 p.m. at WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket.
