Vivian Mae Chick, age 83 of Province Lake Road in East Wakefield (Woodman) NH died March 10, 2013 at the St Joseph Hospital in Nashua after a lengthy illness.

Born March 19, 1929 in Dover, NH the daughter of John Roger Shaw and Esther M. (Marden) Woods, she was raised in Dover, NH with her stepfather John Woods and mother Esther, graduate of Dover High School Class of 1947. She has resided in East Wakefield for over 63 years.

A homemaker, Vivian had also worked at many jobs including Head of House Keeping at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro.

A member of the Wakefield Congregational Church, she had worked as a Parish Helper for the church, Vivian was very active in the communities of East Wakefield and Wakefield, having volunteered for the Wakefield Food Pantry and the St. Anthony’s Church Senior Luncheons, past secretary for the Woodman Village Association, She and her husband George oversaw the Woodman Cemetery for many years, and a former member of the Wakefield Grange.

Survived by her 4 sons: George E. and his wife Ruth Chick III of East Wakefield, NH, David Chick of Mooresville, N. Carolina, Brian and his wife Barbara Chick of Statesville, N. Carolina, Mark and wife Susan Chick of East Wakefield, NH, 1 Sister: Phyllis Coleman of Dover, NH, several loving grandchildren and many great grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband of 46 years George E. “Bud” Chick Jr. October 11, 1993, 1 son: Jerre Chick, 1 brother : John Woods, 2 sisters: Janet Sewall and Rose McGowan.

Memorial service for Vivian will be held at 11:00am on May 11, 2013 at the Wakefield Congregational Church 2718 Wakefield Road Wakefield, NH with the Rev. Mary A. James Officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to the Wakefield Food Pantry P.O. Box 426 Wakefield, NH 03872.
