Joe's Obituary

Alfred Joseph (Joe) Dudenhoeffer, age 83, of Lampasas, TX passed away peacefully on March 5, 2013. Joe was born April 18, 1929 in Gainesville, TX to Ben and Louise (Odom) Dundenhoeffer. He received his pilot's license at the age of 16 and he graduated from Gainsville High School in 1946. In 1951 Joe graduated Texas A&M University with a Bachelors Degree in Petroleum Engineering. He married Billie J. Andrews on March 1, 1952 in Freer, TX. He served his country as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army from July 1952 through April 1954 and he was awarded three service medals in Korea. Joe was employed, in 1952, by El Paso Natural Gas in Farmington, NM and transferred to Midland, TX in 1966 and then to Amarillo in 1982 where he retired in 1985. Joe and his family made the move to Lampasas in 1986 and purchased the Napa Auto Parts store. He was a proud Aggie all the days of his life, a season ticket holder for over 25 years and he was a member of the A&M Association of Former Students. Joe was an active member of the Kempner Oak Hills Baptist Church and the American Legion. Survivors include his wife of 61 years: Billie Dudenhoeffer of Lampasas,TXSons: Joe Dudenhoeffer Jr. and his wife, Belinda of Brenham, TXScott Dudenhoeffer and his wife, Lorna of Hobbs, NMDaughter: Amy Ford and her husband, David of Leander, TXSister: Rebecca and her husband, DanSister-in-law: ArleneGrandchildren: T.J., David, Jaci, Ashley, and BrittaniGreat-grandchildren: Steven, Adalea, Caleb, Harlea, Kinslea, and CharleaAnd numerous nieces and nephews Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his brother: Paul, his grandson: Justin, his nephew: Ray, and his sister-in-law: Dorothy. Visitation will be Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 6:00-8:00p.m. Funeral service will be Friday, March 8, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Sneed Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Kempner City Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kempner Oak Hills Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
