CHESTER RUDOLPH COWAN Jr.

COWAN, JR., CHESTER RUDOLPH Cowan, Chester Rudolph, Jr., 61, passed away Monday, March 7, 2011 at his residence in Apopka, FL. He was preceded in death by his son, Chester R. Cowan, III, his father, Chester Rudolph Cowan Sr., and his mother Virgie Bunch Cowan. He served on the Graysville City Council in the 70's, was a member of the Jefferson County Board of Education, serving as president in 1982, proud member of the West Jefferson Alumni association, a graduate from UAB, founder of the Graysville Gun Club, retired from Bell South after 20 years, a sales manager for Sprint for 10 years, a real estate broker for 10 years, served his country in the Army/Reserves 13 years, a member of Am Vets since 2001, and the Camp Gordon Johnson Society, Honorary member of the 4th Infantry Division (IVY Division) and a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Julie, and son, J Patrick Cowan of Birmingham, sister Mickie Harrison of Huntsville, nephews, John Tom Harrison of Jasper, Lee Harrison of Huntsville and niece, Wendy Berry of Atlanta. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 11, at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Crestview Memorial Funeral Home in Adamsville, AL with entombment to follow in Crestview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
