When I was a youngster in Dracut, and lived in the house nest to the Dwinell's I used to visit their home many, many times to see Gertrude, I liked her very much as a friend and she made me cookies and one time when Fred was away the family gave me Fred's stamp collection. I loved their dog,a Irish setter, but he bit me once while I was sleding down the Clark Avenue hill. We enjoyed each other as good friends and will miss her greatly. I just love to visit with her parents and still can smell the tobacco from her dad's pipe. Hope to see Gertrude in heaven.

I was friends with Mrs. Swanson when I was a young girl living on St. Rose St. in JP. I would frequently visit her in the afternoons and help her out with her chores or sit on the porch and talk. She was truly a sweet women. I also remember her love of lilacs as she would visit the Arnold Aboretum on Lilac Sunday each spring.
