Patrick Pizzuto Obituary

PIZZUTO, Patrick P. 63, unexpectedly, December 9, of Lexington and Hull MA, formerly of Belmont, MA. Devoted husband of 40 years to the love of his life, JoAnne Pizzuto, whose heart he captured when she was 17 years old. Loving and beloved father to Anne P Boyle, and her husband, Geoffrey W. Boyle, and Jill M. Pizzuto, and her partner James R. Splaine, all of Waltham, MA. Also survived by his grandsons Gavin and Dylan Boyle who loved their papa more than life itself. He was the consummate "Good Son;" He made the care of his elderly parents the late Patrick and Mary (Ferolito) Pizzuto, of Cambridge, his top priority. Brother of the late Robert Pizzuto and his wife Libby Pizzuto, of Arlington, MA and MaryAnn Brosnahan of Cambridge, MA. He was uncle to many nieces and nephews. Son-in-law of Ceila Goguen of Stoneham, MA. Brother-in-law to Stephen Smith and Brian Smith, both of Florida, Hillery Carroll, Theresa Garaffo, Charles Smith and Paul Smith, all of Stoneham, MA. Relatives and friends are invite to visiting hours on Tuesday 4:00 to 8:00pm in The DeVito Funeral Home 761 Mt. Auburn St., WATERTOWN and to a Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 10:30 in the Sacred Heart Church. Interment to follow St. Patrick Cemetery. Retired owner of Waltham Fruit Co. and late consultant of Baldor Foods of Boston. A member of Oakley Country Club, Pat was an avid golfer, card player and lover of life. As a Boston College alum, he enjoyed and followed BC sports, especially basketball and football, even attending the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, TX in 1985. Known to many of his friends as "Junior", or "June", he was an honest upstanding man who was loved by all of the people whose lives he touched. He was serious at times, inspiring confidence in those who sought guidance from him, and a practical joker with a dry wit that appealed to those in need of a laugh. He will be missed more than words can describe. The family wishes, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made to The Multiple Sclerosis Center at St. Elizabeths Medical Center, 736 Cambridge St, Boston, MA 02135.
