Marcia,
It is still unbearable, I just can't believe you're gone. For so many years you were my best friend, my big sister, the one who would always tell me exactly what I needed to hear, not what I wanted to hear. I could tell you anything and everything, and did I ever!
I told the ladies at Lord & Taylor about your passing, imagine all of us in the middle of the store crying at Christmas? What a sight that was. You know they always asked about you if I was in there without you and vice versa. Our shopping trips were legendary. No one could hang with me like you (although Nisi is pretty good, and your sister is no slouch either). You would make fun of me for putting things back by the time I got to the register, yet you would bring it all the way home, keep it for up to a year and then return it! LOL!
I will miss you for the rest of my days and love you even longer.

I was lucky enough to be a student at the Hennigan in the early 90s and I still remember Ms. Perry's warmth, leadership, and sense of humor. Her passing is a great loss for Boston's schoolchildren.

Mrs. Perry was a true leader. Her greatest contribution to the Hennigan was that she filled the school with such PRIDE and POSITIVITY every day. I was a student there in the early 90s and I remember her smile and grace with great fondness. It's very sad to hear of her passing.

I only spent one year at the Hennigan, for fifth grade, but when I returned five years later when my younger brother started there, I was surprised to hear a cheerful Mrs. Perry greet me by name as soon as I walked in the door. She never forgot a student - she was personally connected to everyone who walked the halls of the Hennigan. She made every student feel comfortable at school; her loud laugh was contagious and her warm hugs turned a bad day around.
I'm glad to see the kind words from so many of the teachers who I knew at the Hennigan back in '98. It's a true testament to the impact she had on everyone in the community. She will be truly missed by all of us.

Ms. Perry was the first principal I worked for when I joined the Boston Public Schools 10 years ago. She was a fair, honest, and supporting principal. I learned a lot from my experience working with her. I always felt supported. Thank you Ms. Perry for helping become the teacher I am today.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Perry. She was such a momumental presence at the Hennigan. I will never forget her opening words on the first day meeting her in the cafetorium when she announced "I can talk louder than anyone here, so please get quiet!" And it quickly did!
I will always be grateful to Mrs. Perry for her loving manner in caring for my children, Jordan and Amalia, during their tenure at the Hennigan. Jordan's 3rd grade project on Florida stayed in her office for years, not to mention how safe I felt with him traveling to Washington DC with her and her staff. She was an incredible educator and a warm, attentive, and vivacious person. I marveled at the ease with which she managed that building. Her presence in the halls was bigger than life most times but even larger during assemblies. When she talked to me privately about concerns she ALWAYS showed me great respect and appreciation for my input. When attending team meetings, she always lended a supportive voice. Nothing was spared for the best interest of educating the children! I loved her for that and will be forever grateful for the path in education she helped pave for my children.
My thoughts and prayers to the family of Mrs. Perry. May you all find peace and comfort from God's love during this time.

Mrs. Perry dedicated her life to the children and families of the Hennigan School. How fortunate they were to have had her for so long. She always said what she meant and meant what she said. I will miss her loud and lovely voice in the halls of the Hennigan. Her laughter will linger there always. She left us a lot to think about when she last spoke to us at her retirement party. She was an inspiration of love and light and showed how someone can live their life to the fullest, while living a life for others at the same time. God Bless You Eleanor.

To The the family of Ms. Perry,
I had the opportunity of knowing Ms.Perry for 10 years working in the same building at the Hennigan/ELC-West. She was a remarkable woman and it showed in her love for the children at the Hennigan. She left a gift of memories for us to cherish.
You're in my thoughts, my heart, and my prayers.
Blessings and Love,

I lovingly remember Eleanor Perry, who made a world of difference to my children as principal of the Hennigan Elementary school. My gratitude to her is boundless. She did more good, working her administrative magic in quiet, than can ever be measured. With the loss of Eleanor Boston is ever so much poorer than any one person can comprehend. I am terribly saddened to learn of Ms. Perry's passing. She fought hard and smiled through it all. She put the Hennigan children ahead of her own needs at times. My adult daughter is now at Suffolk University and my fourth grader is well on her way to be equally as successful as her older sister. I know for a fact that this is because Ms. Perry told her students that if they apply themselves, they can accomplish anything. She made time for each and every one of them. The Boston Public School System has truly lost an amazing educator. The Perry Family and the entire Hennigan Community will reamain in my prayers.
