Still hard to believe our good buddy, Richie, has been gone for over 20 years now. We were good friends going back to the 70's, starting at General Motors Institute and both of us being sponsored as Engineering Co op students at the former Chevy Tonawanda Foundry. Worked on a number of big plant improvements projects with Rich and we both throughly enjoyed our free time together hunting, fishing and harvesting firewood. You just never know when your numbers up and as I get older, I'm far more humble as well as appreciative of each new day that our Lord gives us. God bless you Rich & family and may you RIP!

Rich, I will miss you and love you forever as I told you until the end. The most precious gift that you gave to me was our miracle son, Correy. I promise you I will take care of him just as you did. You were a wonderful father not only to Correy but to Cheryl, Robin and Jayson as well. Without your wise guidance, they would not be the wonderful and successful adults that they are today. Thank you for a wonderful life and until we meet again, I will always love you. Marcy xo

Being Rich's cousin and very close when we where very young I'll miss those days when my family and his would help his parents, staying out of trouble while they built the house in Clarance,NY I hadn't seen him in years
and mourn his death my prayers are many as my tears.

I am so so sorry for the loss of Richard. It was a shock (for me) to hear. I can't imagine how devastating his loss is for his family. No time is the best, but happening so close to Christmas is doubly sad. Love and blessings to all of his family and friends.

Correy, friends, and loved ones, Rich was an amazing man, he was a person who truly made the world a better place. His passion for the outdoors will always be remembered by so many. I will never forget all our conversations on all aspects of life weather it was fixing something that was broke or the guidance he provided on how to deal a difficult situation. Correy your dad loved you more than you can imagine I would ask him what you are up to and he would tell me how your off chasing some band somewhere and would then reply but "Ems thats what he called me why I dont know" the boy is making progress. Rich touched so many lives in so many different ways it is hard to imagine the world without him. On fri we will lay to rest a father, loved one, family member, friend, and mentor. Woody it was a true honor to be your friend and pupil you will be greatly missed by so many and as you said to me so many times when we would hang up the phone "stay in touch"

Correy,
It is not surprising to read so many wonderful tributes to "Woody". He was always reaching out with some tidbit of information or making some connection happen. I had the pleasure of working with your dad at Delphi and we stayed in touch since then. It was always a treat just to say hello and share a story with him. My sincere condolences.

Correy, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this very difficult time. I worked with your Dad in Supplier Quality at Delphi for several years. He talked about you often and we shared stories with each other about our kids. I'll always remember the smile on his face and the "wink" he would give me as he passed my desk. He was a great man who will forever live on in our memories.

Corrie - We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad. Knew your Dad from our days at Parker Elementary and until now would run into each other frequently only to share many stories (usually deer hunting stories) together, but also comparing life's challenges we have faced and of course many fond memories of families. He was a good friend and always counted on to share and help when needed. What a fine example of model citizen he did embrace. Rich, you will be missed by many. Until that day we meet again. You and family are in our prayers.

Correy & Family, Sorry to hear of your
Dad's passing. We go back to the 70's when we worked at the Chevy Foundry. Around this time of year, in late 1978, Rich & me put together a last minute plant improvement project, which we had done over the Christmas break. It involved spending almost $1 million, in unapproved money! It was successful, and Rich was always proud to say - "Well, how much have you ever spent that wasn't approved & still kept your job?" That was his approach to life - take the smart risk - profit from the accomplishment - then on to the next move. Later, after Chevy closed, Rich transferred to Harrison & my family was sent to a GM plant in Illinois. Over several years, Rich was the key person who helped us eventually get transferred to Harrison & back to our home. We are forever grateful for this. Lots of memories - fishing, hunting & knocking down some trees. Rich lived life to the fullest. May God be with you & in your sorrow. Please remember that there are a lot of folks out there that will always care about you. Phil Faust

Corrie,
I was shocked and saddened to hear of your loss. Your dad was such a good friend and always had a good story to share. He always told me to cherish every moment with my son and family, since life is so short. He would invite us out to hunt with him and I'll forever remember those days spent afield with him. We'll all miss this very compassionate and intelligent friend. God bless you and your family at this most difficult time.

Correy, I just got an e-mail telling me of the loss of your Dad. I am in total shock and wish I didn't live so far away. I am your Dad's cousin. I actually, lived with your grandparents, your Dad and Aunt two summers on Krauss Rd. I was the "babysitter" while your grandparents worked. Your Dad always kept me on my toes but we had a wonderful time. One huge memory was the day he cut his foot on some glass. It wasn't a pretty picture. I am not good with the sight of blood. I can still picture him standing in the bathroom with his foot in the sink! This may not mean a whole lot to you but your grandmother was instrumental in my parents adopting twins from the hospital she worked at. I am forever grateful for that gift. Your Dad was loved by his extended family. I know he is enjoying the benefits of heaven right now. What he wants more than anything else is for you to "be there" when your time comes. Your loss is huge and you will grieve but hold on to all the wonderful memories that you have of a wonderful man. My love and prayers are with you.

The proud hunter

I worked with Rich at Delphi (GM) for many years. He was a great mentor and always kept in touch even after he retired. He always told me that family was the most important thing in life and we always ended up talking about our kids and how to raise and guide them. He also told me to live each day to the fullest because you don't know when it will be your last. I know he aspired to that by his involvement in so many activities and peoples lives around the community. He had a kind heart and a great gift of gab. He will be greatly missed but his memory will live in our hearts by the impression that he left on all the people he touched.
