Jacob Friesen Obituary
May 30, 1937 - August 10, 2011
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jacob Friesen on Wednesday, August 10th, 2011 at the Grey Nuns hospital while surrounded by loved ones. He was a veteran of the RCAF, an entrepreneur, a selfless volunteer and an active senior. A bon vivant, Jake the Happy Camper loved his family and his annual trip to the Big Valley Jamboree.
He is survived by his brother Cam, his six children; Bliss (David), Donna (Larry), Sheri, Jamie (Jennifer), Wesley and Nelson (Jacqueline), and seven grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Jakes memory may be made to the Seniors Assisted Transportation Society of Greater Edmonton: 9907 - 108 Avenue, Edmonton, AB.
A public viewing will take place at Hainstocks Funeral Home (9810 - 34 Avenue) on Tuesday, August 16th from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow Wednesday afternoon (August 17th) at 2:00 p.m.

Donna, I remember alot of stories you had of your Dad. I remember he was a kind and happy person. I know you will miss him alot but I will keep you in my prayers for comfort.

Jake will be missed by all his friends and family he was one loving man to his family he always talked about his family I was very fortunate to be Jakes bus driver going to the Jamborees and to their shuffle board games out of town. My deepest sympathy goes to his family he was fun to be around with.
