CURRY, Kenneth Robert Peacefully, surr-ounded by his family on June 22, 2010 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of Jo Curry (nee Empey). Loving father of Ken (Char), Jane (Martin Clarke) and Susan. Cherished grand-father of Erin and Russell and great-grandfather of Tyler. Predeceased by his brother Bill and his sister Jean Murray. Ken was a WWII Veteran proudly serving in the Air Force for 25 years followed by a career with External Affairs as a Communicator until his retirement. Ken's passion for singing led him to Barbershop Harmony and a 50 year relationship with the Capital City Chorus. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road (between Baseline and Bayshore Dr.) on Sunday, June 27 from 1 to 3 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, June 28th at 11:30 a.m. Special thanks to the staff at the Queensway Carleton Hospital and Extendicare Medex for all the care they provided. In lieu of flowers, donations to Ontario District Harmonize for Speech Fund would be appreciated.

Shocked and saddened to hear of Ken's passing. A wonderful person, a great co-worker and a kind neighbour. Ken and I rode the bus to/from 125 Sussex for several years and I frequently think of those times.

I was so sorry to hear of Ken's passing. I was in Kuala Lumpur at the same time that Ken was in Singapore. Ken was kind enough to offer to put myself and my family (wife, 3 and 1 year old children) up while we were visiting Singapore. I guess I shouldn't have given the kids chocolate since Ken's apartment had lovely white carpets. Ken was very special. We remember him very fondly. Our thoughts are with you.

So sorry to hear about Ken dying. He certainly had a full life. I remember the great times we had with you Jo, Jane and Susie in England, and with Ken and Bill here in Vancouver. It seems like a lifetime ago. I will remember Ken with fond memories.

My deepest sympathy to Jo and to the rest of Ken's family.
When I joined the Capital City Chorus in 1994, Ken was very welcoming and helpful to me and he was a very positive presence in the chorus. I will always remember Ken's accuracy in singing the bass line and he was always a total gentleman to everyone.
