Oh Mr.Urso,
You were sure the joker.
You cared a lot.
I miss you,
alot.
I remember our track meet in fifth grade, haha ! This makes me laugh , you laughed and told us funny jokes to calm us down , and cheered us on and you were the light up of that whole stadium. Man, I miss you. But you know what, you will always be watching over me. And for sure, I'm still cheering you on. See ya later, L.A Desmarais Dragon.
Oh yeah,
when you point at someone,
there are three fingers pointing back at you.
You taught me that.
And now,
I'm going to remember that,
like I've always have.

Mr.Urso gave me my first board interview only a couple of weeks before this tragedy. I was lucky enough to have met him at L.A. Demarais during my practice teaching. He was a great man and a great role model

Mr.Urso was my principal at L.A.D. since i was in grade 5. I am now going into grade 8. Mr. Urso made a huge impact in my life. He always reminded me to believe in my self and to try my best at everything. I remember when Mr.Urso was told that he would have to leave L.A.D. he cryed with me and told me that he will remember and love all of us.
Mr.Urso will be missed by the many people that he encouraged and believed in.
Mr.Urso told me and a few of my friends a saying that I will always remember. He told us that the ones who cry are the ones who care.
Rest in peace Mr.Urso,
I will love you forever and remember that you will always be with me.
Love forever and always,

Mr.Urso was a very caring man. He helped our school so much. He was always there when someone was hurt. He was a generous principal and was able to help. He as there when I first came to L.A.Desmarais. My first day he walked me to my class and introduced me. He was very nice to me on my first day and i will never forget that.
Mr.Urso was the nicest pricipal a school could ever have. The students and staff of L.A.D. were very fortunate to have a principal like him. I hope that as I go into grade 6 that Mr.Urso is going to watch me and guide me through my difficulties.
I for sure know that mr.Urso is in heaven and is watching all of us.
Mr.Urso will be greatly missed by all of us. May you rest in peace.

Mr. Urso became principle of my gradeschool ( L.A.Desmarais) during my grade 8 year. The first thing I thought when I saw him is how young and professional he looked, and I knew from that moment that he would be the best principle the school has ever had. It was true, Mr Urso was such a caring and loving individual and did so much for our school and the children that were attending it. Mr. Urso made my last few months of grade 8 into wonderful memories.Mr Urso was truley the best principle I have ever had. I have not seen a person who is so caring and professional. As I enter my last year of High School it was Mr. Urso who has helped me have wonderful memories of my gradeschool years. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Urso family during this time and he will always be in my thoughts and prayers.

My deepest condolences to the Urso family and to the community of his friends for the sudden loss of Gianluigi. I first met Gianluigi at the University of Windsor during our undergraduate years and remembered him as a kind, gentle, sincere, and honest man. To know him even briefly was enough time to know he was a person with a heart of gold.
Gianluigi, may you forever rest in peace.

What I remember most of what Mr.Urso has done at L.A.D are the special things he did for the Greco family when Danielle died. He named the library after her, he had many assemblies in her honour, and held special masses for her.
I also remember that he always did fun things for the school like fun day, house leagues, fundraisers, crazy hair days, and even slept on the school roof when he and the teachers lost a contest against the students.
I just wanted to say that I miss you Mr. Urso and I always will.
Love, your student Breanna,Grade 5

Mr Urso was Principal to my four children during his stay at L.A Demarais.
As you've heard before from others, Mr Urso was more than a Principal. So much more.
He was the kind of man who always had his door open to anyone who needed guidance.
He was the kind of man who always had his arms open to anyone that needed a hug.
He was the kind of man who always listened to a parents concerns.
He was the kind of man who disciplined the children with love and would say "boys will be boys".
He was the kind of man who never lost his patience with the children, even when they were loud. He spoke his authority in the most gentle tone.
He was the kind of man that changed an ordinary school into one big family. When you walked through the front door of Mr Urso's school, you felt welcomed.
He was the kind of man the children all spoke of with respect and admiration.
He was the kind of man who you were proud to know.
I thank you for your dedication and devotion to our children.
Sadly missed.

Mr. Urso,
Today, after working 10 hours, I drove to the funeral home. I was told I would have to park in Walmart's lot. I thought, I will have to walk a bit. But I remembered how much you walked for me and my daughters. When I went in, there was a very very long line, and it would take some time before I would be able to offer my condolences. I remembered how patient you were with me and my daughters. Honestly, the line seemed like a mile! But I remembered how you always went the extra mile for me and my daughters. I dedicated myself to standing there and remembering how dedicated you were with me and my daughters. I remember a peaceful feeling, saying a prayer for you, at your casket, and also remembered the peaceful feeling knowing that my daughters were in your hands. Words will never be enough to express my gratitude for having you in our lives, or the sorrow we feel at your passing. I know that you have taken the torch with you, and we will always find confort when we look up and see the beacon of light from heaven. God has truely brought an angel home.
We love and miss you.

Gianluigi rimarrà per sempre nei miei pensieri. La sua somparsa è davvero una tristezza pesante e dolorosa. Non mi dimenticherò quanto immisurabile la sua bontà. Louie Urso was the precious gift and blessing to all of the people who knew him. One thing really amazing about this man was the fact, that he in his life became a true witness of our faith. He was following the path filled with compassion, hard work, dedication, generosity and unconditional love to all of us around him.
And now it is unbearable to even think, that we will never see on this world your smile, or hear your calming voice Mr. Urso...

My Dearest Urso Family
I hold dear so many fond memories of Louie, dating back to when I lived across the street from your family....all the Urso weddings, gathering in your basement, sitting on the front porch and sharing many laughs.
I was honoured when Louie asked if he could do some volunteer work in my classroom. If I am not mistaken he volunteered off and on for at least 4-5 years. My students where blessed with not only his presence but his humour, kindness, caring nature and empathy.
As all of you,I too was extremely proud and exited that Louie went into "teaching". The detication, passion and utmost respect he had for his career was evident in all that he did and from all those lives he touched. His laughter, and sincere compassion for others will not be forgotten. Louie had such a strong, possitive impact on so many lives and was loved by all.
My prayers are with all of your families as well as Louie. My heart aches for you, he will sadly be missed by so many.

To the family of Louie Urso:
I met Louie at L.A. Desmarais while doing my first teaching placement when I was at the faculty. He made such a positive impression on me. Here was a young man, not much older than myself, who was energetic, kind, thoughtful and simply a pleasure to have met.
He took the time to sit with the 4 of us (teachers in training) and learn about who we are, as well as offer guidance and support in our new career path.
I enjoyed my time at Desmarais so much that I kept returning throughout the year to see how everyone was doing.
He was an amazing person. A leader in the schools, a voice for students with special needs, a proud Catholic and I feel honoured to have known him. This community mourns a great loss.
May you find peace and comfort in reading this guest book and may you be proud to have been related to a man so well loved.

To The Urso Family
Words are hard to find at this moment. Our deepest condolences for the loss of a great family member "Louie". As parents of 10-year-old special needs son, we were truly blessed to have had Louie as principal at L.A. Desmarais. He always believed in our children, always gave us the strength and courage to fight all odds. Just a terrific person, inside and out. He will be missed but not forgotten. We loved him especially for all the love he showed to our children. We pray that he looks down on our children. He is truly our "Guardian Angel". Rest in Peace, Mr. Urso. We will genuinely miss you.
Forever in our prayers,
Nazio, Luisa, Peter, and Rosa Miceli

There are angels in all our lives and Louie was definitely one to all who knew him. He always performed wonderful acts of human kindness, said just the right word, brought a smile to anyone's face with his laughter and was always first to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
It's never easy for those of us left behind who lose someone as extraordinary as Louie. We all feel the shock especially when it's so unexpected.
Your short time at Holy Cross will never be forgotten and the hallways will always whisper your name.
May it help to know how many of us are sharing your pain and stand with you all in your time of need.
Love's everlasting connection can never be broken, not even in death.Louie rests with God now and one day we will all meet again. Ciao Bello.

Our deepest sympathies and prayers are with Luigi's family. We remember the first time we met our newly found cousins, the Urso's. Even then at the age of 3 Louis had an infectious smile and a personality that was imbued with a profound sense of happiness and a zeal for life. We will miss him.

My heart goes out to the entire Urso family in this tragic time.
Louie had the nicest smile that reflected an honestly beautiful heart...in fact I can't remember a time that he wasn't completely genuine. He left a lasting impression on our family at Hebert Studio, and we will always remember him with fondness.
