Mary Berens Obituary
91 of Jackson Township died Friday, July 6, 2012. She was a resident of the Massillon-North Lawrence area all of her life and was a graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1939. She retired from the Tuslaw School District and was an active lifetime member of Chapel of the Cross United Methodist Church. She served eight years with Earl Bailey Evangelistic Ministries and was a volunteer at Rose Lane Health Center for more than 30 years. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Dale Berens; daughter-in-law, Deena Berens; sisters, Verda Zimmerman and Hazel Bachman and brother, John Lawrence.
She is survived by her children, Jim (Louisa) Berens, Penny Wagner and Mark (Judy) Berens; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; fiance, Bob Longworth.
Funeral Service WEDNESDAY, 11 a.m. at the Chapel of the Cross United Methodist Church, 14411 Orrville Street, North Lawrence, Ohio with Pastor Ignatius David officiating. Burial Newmans Creek Cemetery. Friends may call TUESDAY, 5-8 p.m. AT THE CHURCH and at the church Wednesday one hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to the Chapel of the Cross United Methodist Church.

We enjoyed Mary's, as well as Dale's, fellowship at The Chapel of the Cross. It was a blessing to know them, and will be a blessing to see them again, in Glory Land (Heaven).

Mary was our school secretary at Moffitt Heights when I taught kindergarten. She was always smiling, and was the most pleasant person to work with. My deepest sympathy to you all.

My deepest sympathy to Mary's family during this sad time. I was a secretary at Myers School when Mary was the secretary at Moffitt Heights. We go way back, to the 1970's when we would go to meetings and talk to each other quite often. Always loved her laugh, that is something we enjoyed together. She was always a sweetheart and remember her and our times together. You are blessed with wonderful memories of your mother forever!
