CARL LIND Obituary

Carl F. Lind, 64, of Homewood, IL passed away on Dec. 8, 2010. Beloved husband of Margaret (nee Nowak); cherished son of the late Herb and Ruth Lind of Downers Grove; fond brother of Paul (Susan) of Ft. Collins, CO and Allen (Connie) Lind of Lexington, KY; dear brother-in-law to James (Beverly) Nowak, Virginia (Bill) Zientara, Dianne (Frank) Gruger, Joe (Dorothy) Nowak, Mary Jo (Bill) Lowden, Anthony (Laura) Nowak, John Nowak, Susan Nowak; and uncle to 30 nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A graduate of Morgan Park High School and the University of Illinois, Carl received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. In 1975 he became licensed as a Registered Professional Engineer, and a member of ASHRAE. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011 at St. Joseph's Church, 17951 Dixie Highway Homewood, IL at 10:30 a.m. Internment services to be privately held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the American Cancer Society or the Illinois Hospice Association would be appreciated.

Mr.Carl Lind was a great friend just found the email sent to me regarding his passing. I was quickly overcome by sadness, a loss of a good friend and collegue we worked together on countless projects, had a few brews and swapped good tales he'll be be greatly missed my deepest sympathies to his wife Margaret and his family.

30 years ago, Carl was my mentor as an engineer at Schmidt, Garden & Erikson, and an inspiration to my career. I continue to try to live up to his standards of excellence. I extend my prayers to Carl and you all.
