John Bonebrake was a fun person. Very erudite and a confirmed aesthete. His apartment suite at Judson Manor was a veritable collector's museum of all sorts of objet d'art. He used to journey out to my aunt and uncle's home in Gates Mills (the Clemens von Koschembahrs)for holidays (Xmas,Easter, the 4th of July) and always had something to say about how people had lived in Cleveland, focussing on proper standards of esthetics and deportment. He enjoyed a good joke, fine food, and good conversation. He maintained a traditional sense of courtesy, something too often missing in today's world.

John Bonebrake brought great happiness into our lives. I can not tell you how many times he made us laugh with his wonderful humor. We greatly enjoyed the opportunities to dine with him. He was so knowledgeable about so many things. I particularly enjoyed driving him around because he always felt obligated to provide a tour of the city of Cleveland, pointing out the significant buildings, their architects, their architectural style and of course their history. My wife and I will miss him dearly. Joe and Karen Peter
