JESSE GALLOWAY Obituary

Jesse C. Galloway of Woodstock Jesse C. Galloway, 77, died Friday, April 15, 2011, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 25, 1933, in Headyville, Ill., to William Madison and Mary Elsie (nee Kepley) Galloway. He married Genevieve Petrik on May 24, 1952, in Dieterich, Ill. Jesse served in the Army in the Korean War. He worked as an environmental lab supervisor for the Northrop Grumman Corporation. He enjoyed the holiday seasons and playing Santa for handicapped children and residents of nursing homes. He was a member of the American Legion and the Old Crows. He loved airplanes and going to air shows. He especially loved watching western movies and TV shows. He is survived by his wife, Genevieve Galloway; four children, Cathi (Frank Cesare) Galloway, Michael (Lynn) Galloway, Debbie (Edward) Galloway Filler and Steven (Susan) Galloway; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his nine brothers and sisters. A memorial gathering from 2 to 6 p.m. will be held on Saturday, April 30, at The Vine Christian Church, 1132 N. Madison St., Woodstock, IL 60098. The memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. with Pastor Michael Wiley officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Salvation Army.
