Paulette Pochop Obituary

HAMPTON - Paulette E. Pochop, 43, returned back to her heavenly father on Dec. 11, 2007.
Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, she graduated in 1982 from Bonneville High School. She has been a Hampton resident since 1996. This was an unexpected loss and she will be missed so much, words cannot express.
Paulette worked for the Commonwealth Attorney's Office in Hampton. She had a paralegal degree and enjoyed her job, something she excelled at and took great pride in. She also served as an ombudsmen, a liaison for families and sailors while out at sea. She always had a need to help others and bear their burdens.
Paulette was someone we all could rely on to get our questions answered. She will be missed more than she'll ever know. She was always in a giving mood, sometimes at her own cost. She would help everyone else, but would never ask for help herself. She was special to many different people for many different ways.
Paulette had many interests, she enjoyed gardening, reading, decorating, shopping, and making memories with her family. She enjoyed watching T.V. and movies and was constantly adding to her Winnie the Pooh collection.
She leaves behind her sons, Cory James and Willy Michael, both of Blacksburg; her husband, Victor Hugh; siblings, Wally, Trish, Kenny, Bobbi Jo, and Sid; and her parents, Elaine and Remes. Paulette, we will miss you!
The family will have viewing and visitation from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions in Hampton. Immediately following at 4:30, Paulette's life will be celebrated in the funeral home chapel.
The family wishes expressions of sympathy to take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, 11835 Cannon Blvd., Suite A102, Newport News, VA 23606, or your favorite charity.
Arrangements are by Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions, 2609 Cunningham Drive, Hampton, VA 23666, 757-825-8070.

Paulette was my best friend in high school.. She, her sister Patty, and I were like the 3 musketeers. She always had a wonderful sense of family and friendship...and now that i've discovered that i can't connect with her again... I have no words. She will always have such a bright place in my heart. I never got to meet her husband or boys, but I'm glad ya'll got to know and love her... and to her mom and brothers and sisters that i spent so much time with way back when, to you all, my heart is aching for and with you....all my love, Sheila (abernathy) hunt-adams.

Paulette,

We shared a turbulent past and loving family.
We shared nights talking and mornings full of rushing.
We shared our closeness and our distance.
We shared exuberant laughter and hard-shed tears.

You were my big sister and my hopeful friend.
You were my hardest challenger and my strongest defender.
You were my often adversary and my dedicated ally.
You were my valiant hero and my guiding teacher.

I am a stronger and better person because of you.
I hope and dream because you showed me how.
I loved you more than I ever said.
I will miss you forever.

I had the privilege of working with Paulette in the Hampton CA's office. She was a sweet, caring person who was loved by everyone who knew her. When you stood at her desk it was evident that she loved her job, the color purple, Winnie the Pooh - but most of all she loved her two boys very, very much. She will be missed.

What a privilege it was to meet your mom, boys. I am so glad my Red Hat sisters invited her to join us. They are a loving bunch of ladies and she clearly was the same. I will miss having the opportunity to get to know her better. I pray that you have the strength to carry on as she would have wanted you to.

Thank you Victor for the phone call this morning about Paulette's passing. Her family was always important to her. Cory and Willie she Loved you both very much. She & I didn't talk often but she was thought of often and missed. I was thinking back to the time the 9 of us went to San Francisco. It was her first trip there. Every time Bruce would go down a hill she just knew we would keep going. It was a great time to share with the kids. The cable car rides, Fisherman's wharf and Golden Gate Bridge. She was there when I needed her when Kyle got sick. She took Brandon & Kristy so I could care for him. When the chaplin thought I was losing it the first person I had him call was Paulette and she was right there. I know that during that time Paulette was my "Rock" as the guys were out to sea. I could never thank her enough for that. The last time we talked was a year ago. She told me how Victor was working on the Sub that Brandon was on. We talked for quite a while. She was an amazing LADY and she touched many people. We always talked about meeting up somewhere, but it never worked out. I know that someday we will meet up again, and the stories we will share. My heartfelt Sympathy to Victor, Cory and Willy.

I will miss everything about Paulette, but most of all I miss getting to spend our lunches together and getting to see her smiling face. I just want her boys to know how much she talked about them and how proud she was and still is of everything that they do. My heart goes out to the family because she will be greatly missed and I my thoughts and prayers are with them.

Paulette: You are loved and missed by your Mischief Maker sisters and bowling friends. There are few people I've met whose eyes truly twinkled when they smiled - yours truly twinkled and always brought a rosy blush to your cheeks. We'll miss your smiles that you brought to our day. You raised two wonderful sons who will always love their Mom.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

To Paulette's sons please remember your mother as the loving and giving person that she was. I am very sorry for your loss.
