May God be with this family as they celebrate his life. I was not close to Jerry, but I have heard many great things about him through Betsy West.

Dear Stover Family:
Jerry was my grandmother, Betsy West's first cousin and through her I met Jerry as an infant. Jerry was a fine man. Humble, always thought of others first, he loved his wife, Nita and treated her as the lady she is. He loved his children and was proud of all of them.
What I remember most are two things. When my grandfather was in the hospital after a lung operation, Jerry and his son, Bruce came by to make sure my grandparents had everything they needed. I also remember his appearances at my grandparents' "Thursday Faye Day Lunches". As the adult grandchild living in Dallas, I was expected to attended these lunches - not that I would miss them as they were the highlight of my week. But Jerry's appearances at the lunches were always a treat. We both shared a deep interest in our family history. And we both loved to tease my grandmother about our nefarious relative, Jack Swilling. I started to seriously looking into my family's history about five years ago. My first call? Jerry. He was gracious about sharing information. But what else would anyone expect from him. As I said. He was a fine man. I will always remember his kindness and his open heart. To the Stover family, you are in my thoughts and our entire family has suffered a great loss.
With love and peace, Elizabeth D. West

Dearest Nita and Family,
I grieve and give thanks for Jerry. What a wonderful man he was. For all of his accomplishments, he was so humble. He is one of the "good guys" I will always remember.
Enjoy your memories. My prayers for your comfort and support.
With love,

Bruce, I first go to know your Dad as Nita brought me into the Board of DSMA in the late 80's. We will never forget his countless hours of devotion, especially with the fountain. He was truly a unique man of character & honor.

I knew Jerry Stove through the Apple Corps of Dallas where he was one of the original members from the late 70's or early 80's. This is a computer users group that has grown and changed over the many years of following Apple products and Jerry kept pace with technology even long after he was retired. It was a privilege and pleasure to have known Jerry and he was a very kind friend. I will surely miss him and have fond memories of talking technology with him.

Dear Sterling,
It is with great regret that I find myself writing this letter but it brings me joy to remember your father. From the first time I met him when I was around ten years old he fascinated me with his gadgets, his HAM radio and his electrical supplies. The first thing he did when I walked into his house was to take me straight upstairs to his electronics and radios and got down to explaining the mechanics of his hobbies. I remember fondly how he took me in like a grandson and spent time on his radio set finding stations in St. Petersburg and other parts of Russia. He had the kindest smile and eyes that I have seen! I'll always remember W5AE, and especially when he allowed me to sign off using his call sign.
He was also responsible for introducing me to model rockets, which terrified my mum but which made me ecstatic.
More than anything I can still feel the warmth that I felt when I was around him…he made me and everyone else that was lucky enough to be in his company feel at peace. He ignited my imagination with his stories and his love for technology and progress. I am honored to have met him, and to have had the chance to spend time with him.
I am sorry for your loss, and I send you, Bruce, and the rest of those in whose life his passing has left a void my love, my deepest sympathies, and condolences. My thoughts and prayers will be with you through this time.
With much love,
Nikita & Tatiana

It was my honor and good fortune to get to know Jerry and Clayton in the early 1970s when CI was a tiny public company. Over the subsequent years we saw each other in Dallas and New York. A wonderful man, loving husband and father. I will miss his warm smile, upbeat attitude and patriotism.

When invited to share Wednesday night family dinners with the Stovers, I would go willingly for Jerry always made his guests feel so special. His joyful enthusiasm for life was contagious. I have been blessed by my times with this lovely gentle-man! May he rest in peace.

The lives of those who were privileged to share a part of Jerry's life were blessed and changed in ways that made us better human beings. Jerry's dedication to his extended family and his country together with his compassion for others less fortunate than himself will forever be memorialized in our hearts and momories.

One of the greatest of the "greatest generation" of Americans. My heart goes out the the family and trust that Jerry has reached his final rest with the fight well done and is just now getting to figure out how things work as he did here in this life. He will be missed by all of us. Truly a portion of our light has gone out.
