Gina and Hadly family,
I feel so sad today to write this. Will was in my class at Vicenza American High School in Italy. I have so many memories of him. Mostly of his gentle soul and great smile.
Tomorrow I will be walking 40 miles in the Avon Breast Cancer Walk in San Francisco. I have many pink ribbons on my hat for whom I walk. I will have a red ribbon in honor of Will. When I walk across the Golden Gate Bridge I will prayer for all of those whom Will loved.
May God wrap you in his gentle arms during this time of grief and healing.
My love,
Leslie Martini O'Neill

Dear Extended Hadly Family,
My memories of Will are quite vivid though I have not seen him since 1965. Bill and Jane were our neighbors when we were on the faculty at West Point. Our son, Jim, was the same age as Will and our daughter, Sarah, was a year younger. Will's dad had been my roommate when we were cadets so our second time at West Point, this time as captains with families, was one of military life's great rewards.
I deeply cherish Bill and Jane and each one of the six Hadly children; your great grief is mine as well. May the Good Lord be with you all in this sad time.

I went to school with the Hadly family from 1975-76. I remember Will as a very nice person and his family as being very important and well-respected in the community. The prayers of my family join those of many many former VAHS students who remember Will and his brothers and sisters. God Bless Gina and your daughters.

To the Hadly Family:
Please accept my deepest sympathies for the loss of such a wonderful husband, father, son, brother and uncle. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your families during this very difficult time. I have such great memories of Will and his family while attending Vicenza High School in Italy, where our fathers were stationed. The Hadly's and Martini's created many wonderful memories and we've managed to keep in contact over the years. It is the memories that will keep Will's spirit alive. May God comfort you all with his love.

It was with a very heavy heart that I read Liz's email informing me of Will's unexpected death. Just last week I was flooded with fond memories of my time with the Hadly family in Italy when my son's teacher named her daugher Hadly. I thought it a mark of sound character to have Hadly as a birthname because of my experiences with Liz, Cathy, Will, Scott, Cindy and Col. and Mrs Hadly. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours in this time of sorrow.

Dear Hadly Family,
I am saddened to have learned of Will's passing this week. Will and I were teammates in various sports while attending Vicenza High School. I ran into Will during the Christmas shopping season years ago, “He made that season special.” He was the first person that I was reacquainted with since returning state side. What great memories of our friendship during those times. Although I never realized I lived around the corner from him for all these years, I really do wish I could have visited him and met his family. My heart goes out to his family for their loss of a good man.

My son Mark and daughter Grace went to the Vicenza school with Bill. My late wife Anna may have taught Bill Italian there. I worked for Colonel Hadly and was also his Personnel Officer during his tour with SETAF. We are all sorry to hear about this. God has blessed him I'm sure.

The Hadly family is in our prayers in this time of loss. Grand Homes benefited from Will's contributions and we will miss him. I personally enjoyed the time spent with Will, sometimes solving business problems, sometimes mutually encouraging one another in various other aspects of life.
Though it may be of no comfort now, rest on the promise of God's redeeming love through His son, Jesus Christ.

My favorite memory of cousin Will was when he taught me how to make the best paper airplanes when I was five years old. I can still see us in Uncle Bill's back yard flying them. Will was always gentle and kind to his youngest cousin. I continue to pray for Gina, the girls, and all of Uncle Bill and Aunt Jane's family.
