Jessica Joy Rees

Obituary

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif. (AP) - A 12-year-old Southern California girl who started a blog and a Facebook page to raise awareness about child cancer has died of a brain tumor.

Jessica Joy Rees was diagnosed in March. Her family says her 10-month battle with cancer ended Thursday.

The Orange County Register reports (http://bit.ly/yJwyF3) that Jessica was mourned by tens of thousands of people on Facebook.

Jessica began her blog after she became sick, with posts that described her feelings and urged readers to pray for children with cancer.

The seventh-grader always signed off with the acronym "NEGU" (NEE'-goo), short for "never ever give up." Jessica and her father, Erik Rees, also started a foundation to raise money for pediatric cancer research.

Thinking of you on your 21st. birthday.
Who is better to spend it with than our Lord Jesus Christ?
Currently on Earth, there is a bad sickness called the Corona Virus, which has made it necessary for people in all countries to stay away from each other, to prevent spreading.
But, it has actually caused families to spend more time together, and even attend church via their computers. People are beginning to remember to love one another again, and to worship...

Christmas Joy 2019

Jessie's earthly birthday today would be age 19.
She passed thru this world as a young, beautiful, kind-hearted child who suddenly became very ill. In childrens hospital, she saw & felt a need bring smiles back to the precious faces of patients who became her friends. Today, her legacy continues to thrive, & shine the light of Jesus into the lives of children worldwide, as they each receive a Joy Jar filled with toys, and her inspiring message of courage to Never Ever...

Today would've been your 18th "earthly" birthday.
So many things have changed since your passing - particularly in America. I wonder if there is a sense of "time" in your Heavenly home? Have you remained the beautiful, angelic 12 year old that answered the Lord's calling? This I do know - you will forever be missed and forever be loved by countless people here. Your life made a difference Jessie.

Five years of earthly time has passed since the Lord called you home to Heaven. Still thinking of you, and your beautiful family - recalling so many precious photos and stories your PaPa Leon shared in class at Orange Coast College, year after year, with so much love for you.
Looking forward to our Heavenly reunion.
