Stephen Dycio Obituary

Stephen J. Dycio

Age 80, of Lewes, DE, died March 7, 2012 in Naples, FL surrounded by his family.

After graduating from Brown Vocational School, Steve served as a paratrooper in the army. Afterwards, he worked for Ehret Construction where he was the superintendent on many major building projects including the University of DE and various schools in New Castle County.

In 1977 he then formed his own company, Blue Hen Construction in Hockessin. Steve later moved the business to Lewes, where he eventually retired. After retiring, Steve enjoyed spending winters with his wife in Florida and summers in Lewes with the family.

He was a member ot the Lewes Lions Club, the Elks Club, the American Legion and in past years the Wilmington Turners Club. Steve was a wonderful husband, father and brother.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia; daughter, Jan of Wilmington; son, Chip (Becky) of Unionville, PA; daughter, Kim (John) Taylor of New London, PA; brother, Fr. William Hultberg of Wernersville, PA; grandchildren, Melody, Cassie, Trevor and Sierra; brother-in-law Ric (Anne) Buchanan of Mundelein, IL. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lynn. "Fudd" will be missed by all.

Services will be held at St. Mary's of the Assumption Church in Hockessin on Monday March 19. Visitation with the family will be from 10-11am with a Memorial Mass at 11am.

Donations in Steve's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Support Network, 660 Tamiami Tr. N., Ste.21, Naples, FL 34102 or the Chapel Fund, P.O. Box 150, Wernersville, PA 19565.

We were deeply saddened to learn of Steve's passing and would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to the Dycio family, and in particular Pat. We were so blessed to have Steve as our neighbor and friend. He always greeted us with a smile and warm welcome. Our thoughts are with you.
