Dear Kathy and Family,

My wife, Maureen, and I are so very sorry for your loss! It's difficult to believe that my dear friend and college roommate, Pat, is now gone from this world. It is surreal. We really enjoyed his visit to our home several months ago when he went to visit his beloved mom in New York City. While traveling from Rochester to NYC, he ministered to children in several hospitals as Mr. Beau the Clown.

My friend, Patrick, was at heart a minister. He shared his faith and his great love of God by being a beautiful light of His Love to the world. After college, Pat served as a College Campus Minister. He definitely had the call of God on his life to minister to the needs of others.
While visiting with us, Pat told us he had discovered he was happiest ministering to others through his work as a professional clown. He so enjoyed sharing his Irish gift of gab. During our visit, he told jokes, juggled the fruit in our kitchen, and taught our daughter some tricks of the clown trade. He told us that he loved to help people overcome fear.

He shared his life and his heart with us. Pat spoke with great love and pride of his wife and family. He told us of the great job Kathy did homeschooling their sons. He shared that Kathy was a wonderful homemaker. He said the years had flown by so quickly. He found it hard to believe that he had been with the love of his life, his college sweetheart, for more than 30 years!

Pat spoke with great animation about each of his wonderful sons. He talked about how much he loved and enjoyed each one of them. He said he had been greatly blessed as a husband and father.

He, also, spoke of his great love of education; He truly enjoyed being a principal!

Pat's lively spirit has passed from this world to the next. I will always cherish the memories I have of Pat. I'll always remember him as a very spiritual, happy, energetic, kind, caring, hard-working, smart, witty, friendly, entertaining, disciplined and loving man. I look forward to seeing him, again, one day. He is happy now with our Lord Jesus in heaven.

I am so sorry I can't be with you all at Pat's funeral. I am in New Orleans right now with a group of my students. We are helping the residents of New Orleans to rebuild and recover from Katrina. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Your friend,
Mike VerSchneider

Mr. Beau entertained at the Bloomfield Public Library several times. The kids always loved his performances and I always enjoyed a little banter with him when he performed or on the phone while arranging performances. Mr. Beau--you brought so much laughter to so many people.

I can't wrap my head around this. How can it be that one of the happiest, most energetic and spiritual people I've ever known is now gone from this earth? Thanks for the laughter- God must need a clown in heaven. Peace. It was truly a blessing to know you.

We had Pat entertain at our library for our Summer Reading Club. The children (and Parents) enjoyed his humor. Children were never frightened of "the clown" because of the way he became his clown character! He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed! Marcia Bugyi and Becky Stutzman

To the Donohue family, I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Donohue was a frequent visitor here at the Central Library and all of us at the Circulation Desk enjoyed interacting with him and especially loved his "standing in quicksand" routine. My heart truly goes out to all of you. God Bless.

Dear Kathy and All Your Sons,
I cannot begin to tell you how shocked and deeply saddened I was to see Pat's obituary in the newspaper! My heart goes out to you and your sons, and I will offer Mass for Pat, remembering you, your boys and Pat's mom as well.
He came and greeted me the last time I preached at St. Stanislaus, which was the 3rd Sunday of Advent in 2010 or 2011, I can't recall which year, and he had that famous smile that could lift anyone's spirits.

May God grant him eternal rest, and may Our Lady and the angels come to comfort and console you and your sons during this most sorrowful time in your life. You've been in my daily prayers, but now I'll pray even more earnestly for you and your sons, Pat's mother and Pat. Please call if you need to talk.
In Jesus and Mary,
Fr. Frank Fusare

To the Donohue family, I'm so very sorry for your untimely loss. Pat was a regular at the public libraries for many years, performing for the kids and just dropping in to swap jokes (I always tried to best him, but rarely could). He always had a loving and proud word to say about his family. He will be greatly missed.
