My deepest sympathy to Mary and her family. Drowsy was a great man. I remember the first time I met Drowsy it was my first cherry carnival we had to move a piece of equipment across the road when we were moving it he jumps on the back of fire truck and holds on. He was like a 5yr old he had the biggest smile on his face.
Mary..... Drowsy will be missed by so many...he was such a nice person to talk to always so pleasant....R.I.P
The Bear River Fire Department wish to express their deepest sympathy to Mary and family on the sad loss of Drowsy, a great fireman and friend to so many. He will always be remembered and honored.
Dear Linda and Family - We're so sorry for your loss. Drowsy was a great guy and we remember many visits to the Windmill Farm while we visited family in Nova Scotia. May he rest in peace.
Mary - So sorry for your loss, Drowsy was a wonderful caring man, whom I know you will truly miss. We are grateful for all the years spent on the farm in Nova Scotia and will cherish all those memories. Author Les Brown once said, " You are never to old to set another goal or to dream a new dream." I think this sum up the big guy. RIP Drowsy
Drowsy was a kind and gentle giant with a wonderful sense of humor. We always enjoyed our time with Mary and Drowsy. Drowsy was full of fun; he was a "character" and we loved him. We are honored to have shared time with him and to have know him. We will miss him.

Dear Mary and Wendy,
Words can not express my sadness over the news of Drowsey's passing. I know he leaves a hole in your hearts...hopefully time will mend. One of my memories of Drowsey is of him standing with his hands in his pockets as he listens to a funny story one would be sharing and Drowsey chuckling as he knew what the punch line was going to be. He had a calm and gentle presence about him, constant and rock solid. I am honoured to have known him and know for sure he and 'God' are having a good ol' chat upstairs...cause Earth Angels always return to Heaven after their tour of duty on Earth is done. Lots of Love to you, Terri Bowlby-Chiasson
Mary and family - thinking of you at this time. Drowsy was such a gentleman; so kind and knowing. Thank you so much for letting me stay with you both in Yarmouth during the summer of 1987. I'll never forget how surprised he was to see me helping him do the chores in my pj's. He will always have a special place in my heart. Sending you lots of love, Lisa Bowlby
Drowsy was LEGEND in my childhood.
We'd been trying to adjust the carb on my tiny Honda XL80 (dirt bike) next door at Grammy Ruth's.
Drowsy tweaked something and took it for a "spin".
Next we see this giant man on a clown bike with a huge grin going about 70 mph down King Street. BZZZZZZZZZZZZ !!
My dad's cousin was one of those men who when he came around, everybody lit up with his presence.
Leaves a big gap.
Loved the man.
Love and Peace to his family
Linda, Donna and Beth, so sorry to learn of this news through Stan. Wishing you great strength and fond Memories of Drowsey.
Mary, I am so sorry for your loss - my heart goes out to you during this difficult time. Hold tight your beautiful memories. Carol
Beth, my best friend forever... My sincere condolences to you, Mom, Donna, Linda, Ed, Mel, and Kay....Growing up with you was so much fun, and your Mom and Dad were the BEST! I remember one afternoon we had made our favorite clam dip, and your Dad came home... tried it, and said "Hmmmm, good but a little watery don't you think" (as it was dripping all over his uniform)... Will never forget all the fun times, and will never forget how proud I was when your Dad said I did a good job backing out of your driveway!!!! So many great memories! You were so blessed to see him Monday, and have your private Daughter & Daddy talk! Not many are that fortunate!!!! Love you girl, HUGE HUGS!!!! Cath xoxo
We share with all Drowzy's relatives and friends his passing and regret that we were unable to get there prior to his crossing the veil. We will leave here driving on Sunday 7/6 and arrive late Monday to share condolences.
