At our last family reunion, a gathering that has been happening for 50 years, she made sure to pass out her latest endeavor: a reprinted copy of the Epps family cookbook that included many recipes from my husband (her nephew)'s late mother. It is so special to me. She always had a story to share about a grand adventure she had just taken. Her life inspired me-and still does.
