Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Byers Family from the Wagners in California. Arthur will be missed but his spirit will be kept alive by his family.
My condolences for your loss. Sending thoughts and prayers to the Byers family during this difficult time. May you find comfort in knowing that his memory will live on in your hearts forever.
It is still so hard to believe that my hero, my best friend and the most wonderful father in the world --Arthur John Byers (Popie) -- is no longer with me. I do, however, find some comfort in knowing that he will live on ....in my heart with fond memories of all the wonderful times we shared, the places we went, the laughter, the tears, and the many important things he taught me.
My dad was special in so many ways. He lived a long, rich and fulfilling life. He lived life to the absolute fullest, always enjoying precious time with me and the rest of our family. Also, my dad touched the lives of so many other people in a positive way, and those who met him once, never forgot him.
He was a gentle giant, with a warm smile and a firm disposition. Dad was devoted to his family, his friends, his church and his country.
My dad always knew exactly what to say and what to do, no matter how large or small the situation, problem, disappointment or celebration.
He was my role model and I hope to continue to honor my father's legacy by being the best person I can be. No doubt, he wouldn't have it any other way.
To you dad: I love you more than anyone can ever imagine, and I will carry you in my heart for eternity.
-- Your loving son,
The Cruse-Moffat family extends our heartfelt condolences to the Byers family. Robert is a dear friend who we love very much. It is evident that Mr. Byers raised a wonderful son and we are sure he was very proud of Robert and his brother Ken. Please find comfort in knowing that Arthur John Byers has joined the Saints and is at rest.
Art and Hazel have been neighbors of mine for over 20 years. I have fond memories of Art through the years. Especially he and his dog, Fred, New Year's Eve on our street, and Bryan and Jennifer visiting when they were little! May God comfort you, Hazel.
You will be missed every day. You were a great husband, father and grandfather. Thank you for making a tremendous impact on my children!
A great prayer warrior joins the cloud of witnesses...Art will be greatly missed at Bascomb United Methodist Church.
My thoughts and prayers are with the Byer family. John place seems so long ago.
Sincere condolences to the entire Byers family...always fond memories of our days on John Place. Thank you for sharing through photos your journey with Arthur. May you find comfort in knowing he is now HOME with our Creator.
The God of all comfort will comfort you in your time of sorrow. (2Cor. 1:4)
My thoughts and prayers are with you and the entire Byers family during your time of unspeakable grief and sorrow. There is no greater sadness than to lose a loved one, particularly a parent. I also know that there are no perfect words to comfort you as you mourn the loss of your precious father. Please know that your many close friends, including me, are always here for you – here to listen, pray, cry, laugh and support you in any way we can.
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
It was always very apparent how much family meant to Arthur. Every time we spoke, the conversation turned to family. It was very obvious that Arthur was so proud of each of you. When Jen and my daughters were roommates, we would discuss their latest class assignments, how well they were doing, and any milestones they surpassed. His eyes lit up when he spoke about his family.
May God provide you comfort. We are praying for your family.
With deepest sympathy to the Byers family during your time of grief...God is for you a refuge and strength, A help that is there to be found during difficult times...May God provide you with peace and comfort to endure the days ahead.
Art was a dear friend of my parents and I grew up listening intently to his stories with baited breath as a young girl at the VFW post. Art and Hazel were among many of my extended family that helped raise me and form my strong patriotic opinions. Although I haven't seen them in years, he will be sorely missed.
