I was sorry to hear about Tinker's passing. His obituary stated that he was man of great faith. I would echo that fact. As I served as his pastor for 23 years, he was always a joy to be around. I enjoyed the years we sang together in the choir and how he would try to keep me on pitch. I appreciated the times of fellowship we had, such as when we stayed up all night for the barbeque supper cooking pork shoulders.

He was a man of great energy as well. I remember how he loved going to the coast on fishing trips and hearing the stories of casting nets and fishing off the beach and pier.

He was also a reflective man. I could always count on him to provide wisdom and insight from his years of reading the scriptures and walking with the Lord.

Certainly he has joined that great heavenly cloud of witnesses mentioned in Hebrews 12:1. I thank the Lord for the impact he had on my life.

I pray the Lord will bring comfort and strength to Jeanette and all the family during this time.

I have fond memories of Tinker. I worked at Bank of America, and he delivered mail to my department each day. He always had a smile on his face, and his favorite words were "in a 100 years we'll never know the difference". I use that term today.
