Diane, I was so sorry to hear of Barry's passing from you. I wished we all could have visited more over the years. I cherish the memories of coming to visit with you all during the summer of 1966 and you all showing me around OKC.

Barry, oh how I'll miss you... I have so many wonderful childhood and adult memories of you. You were such a loving and kind spirit with an amazing sense of humor. You will be missed by all who knew you. It was a privilege to be your little sister. This quote gives me great comfort. "Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear".

See you in heaven big brother.

Love,
Diane

Barry, I still find it difficult to look over at the corner of the bar and not see you there every day. In the past 5 years you have grown to be more than a customer to me, you became a friend. I will miss you probably more than you would have ever believed if I had tried to tell you so before you left us. You have left an imprint on so many lives. What an amazing honor it was to get to know you.

I am a friend of his daughters and what I can say about the time I spent around him is that he was a giver. A giver of good times and of himself. That's the most respectful thing a human can be; a helper to his brother/neighbor. Rest his soul and know he'll be cheering on the Sooners from up there as well! Boomer!!!!!

My brother Bob and I grew up with Barry and Bruce and were probably the first privates in Teddy's Army, raising heck in the neighborhood. What fun we had growing up and what good friends. He will be missed.Condolences to the family.

I knew Barry Scott for most of my life. we did OU / TX weekends in Dallas and Horse races at Hot Springs. I had not seen him as much as I would have liked lately , but he made in indelible impression upon me. My favorite BArry Scott moment was when I was a kid and he and Joey and I would play the local neighborhood kids, The Steele's. Whenever it got to crunch time we had one play. He would tell me to "Go Long" and chunk the football as far as he could, we dominated many a Saturday afternoon. My prayers go out to his family. Barry Scott will be missed.
"Go Long"

WE LOST A GOOD FRIEND LAST WEEK. BARRY SCOTT WAS TRULY A HUMBLE AND LOYAL GUY.
I MAY SOUND LIKE GIVING A HISTORY LESSON WHEN I TELL YOU ABOUT THE BARRY I KNOW. HE WAS A GREAT BENEFACTOR.
LONG, LONG TIME AGO, PEOPLE RELIED UPON THEIR LOCAL BENEFACTORS TO GET ALONG WITHOUT SUCH A STRUGGLE. MAYBE THEY WANTED A YOUNG ARTIST TO PAINT A CEILING OR A NICE PORTRAIT OF THEIR OLD LADY. SOMETIMES THEY DID NOT WANT ANYTHING IN RETURN, BECAUSE THIS WAS THEIR DUTY TO BE ACCEPTED INTO THEIR HIGH AND NOBLE SOCIETY.
HERE IS WHERE IT GETS ME. BARRY DID IT NOT TO BE ACCEPTED INTO SOME UPPTY SOCIETY TODAY, HE DID IT BECAUSE HE WANTED TO DO IT FROM HIS HEART. I GAINED KNOWLEDGE AND WIT EVERY TIME I VISITED WITH BARRY. HE WAS MY BENEFACTOR BECAUSE HE WANTED TO BE MY FRIEND. THAT WAS OUR EXCHANGE. I AM SURE IT WAS THE SAME FOR A LOT OF FOLKS THAT KNEW BARRY. BUT I KNOW THIS ABOVE ALL ELSE IS THAT HE WOULD HAVE GLADLY GIVEN HIS SHIRT TO ANYONE WHO NEEDED IT, ‘CEPT ANY OU SHIRT, WAIT A MINUTE, THAT IS ALL HE OWNED, WERE OU SHIRTS. NEVER MIND.
JUST REMEMBER BARRY WITH A SMILE AND HE IN TURN WILL WHISPER IN YOUR EAR----BEAT TEXAS!!!!
NOW I REALLY MISS HIM!!!!!LOVE YA BARRY

Barry was a kind soul that will be missed by many, including me. He was so much fun to be around and chat about golf. And he is the one that got me started in the NASCAR league. Rest in peace my friend. Prayers to the Scott family.

Well where do I begin? I have never met a more gentle or kind man than Barry. His sense of humor is what I'll miss the most besides his company, or just playing Golden Tee Golf with our other buddy, Randy B. No matter who won the game, he would always take his OU ball cap off and extend his hand to shake and tell us, "well I played my heart out guys". Or when I would make a bad shot he was my biggest fan by saying, "it's ok, just roll it in" And my favorite Barryism, "keep rolling you little white pill, get in the cup". It was always a pleasure to have a conversation with him and he'd say something that wasn't politically correct and we would both raise our hand up and make a circle motion in the air and say "not that there's anything wrong with that". Our other buddy, Yankee John said it best about his humor when playing Buzz Time Trivia. When no one else had the answer, Barry got it right, he would look over at whoever he's playing with and say, "lucky guess", well I'll tell you one thing, I always thought he was the luckiest man on earth, come to find out, we were the one's that were lucky and Blessed to have him with us! Just like finishing a game of golf, my hat is off to you B.O.S. Love ya..

Well where do I begin? Never met a more gentle and kind man than my buddy Barry. He was always there when needed by his friends at Caddo's in Cleburne. I'm sure he was the same person in all of his travels everywhere. Always a humorist with just about anything, real quick off the draw! As we would say together while waving our hands in sequence when we said something that wasn't politically correct, "not there's anything wrong with that". I was amazed the knowledge he knew on every subject, hence Buzz Time Trivia. As our friend Yankee John spoke of this past Sunday, Barry would just have that sheepish grin on his face and say, "lucky guess" when he got a answer right. Then came the Golden Tee Golf game that we use to play nearly everyday. I'd make a bad shot and he was there to say, "roll it in, your ok". Or "come on you little white pill, roll in the cup". After each game his true compassion came out, no matter who won he would take his OU ball cap off and extend his hand out to congratulate his competition. Never failed. He would look at me or our other golfing buddy, Randy B and say, "well I played my heart out today". It won't be the same without you there for our future games, you will be remembered. I promise for now on to tap the board before I make a shot in your honor sir. Just like finishing a golf game, our hats off for you today Barry Scott. We love you....
