Pam, and, I so enjoyed knowing Ernestine, but, especially, Slim for the past many years. His eyes would glisten, and, his smile would be wide whenever Pam showed up to visit him. Pam used to groom his dog, Sweetpea, and, a great bond grew between them. Slim was a great man, friend, and, will be deeply missed by all. He'll, now, be reunited with his long love, Ernestine. Our prayers, and, condolences go out to his entire family.

Very sorry to learn of your Dad's passing. All of us coaches at Agua Fria thought a lot of him. Enjoyed many team trips with him on the bus to Winslow or wherever. Also, appreciated his care of the baseball field. He will be missed. My sincere sympathy. Wayne DesCombes
So sorry! Buford was a very special man and the Hood family is dearly loved by all of our family! Love and prayers from the Mercer family!
Your dad was my bus driver during my three years at Agua Fria. My family and I lived on the Air Force Base and your dad was faithful and kind in getting us to and from school during those days. He was well respected for the job that he did for us.

Many years have passed since I had the opportunity to visit with 'Slim' Hood and I have thought of him often. His kind, quiet, gentle attitude struck a chord in me as a high school student and I have not forgotten for over 45 years.
My sincerest condolences to the Hood family for your loss of this fine gentleman.

Many good, fun memories of knowing and working with "Slim" at AFUHS. It was my first teaching job (1959/60) He helped me "acclimate" to the school and in getting "settled in" to the Music Room and then continued to help out (behind the scenes) in so many ways during my six years at the school. And it was always a treat for all of us when he drove the "Band Bus" to the away football games. He was respected by all and was a kind and gentle man. ~John Putnam

My heart felt condolence to you Paul, Sara, Danny, Terry and Pat and all the grandkids of Slim Hood. Slim was a quite man who invited this young GI into his home and made me feel at home as the rest of the family did. So I will not say good bye to Slim but tell we meet again in a better place. God Bless you all.
