It's been a year now since Charlie has passed and still memories come to mind from time to time, especially at this time. He always made you feel part of the family whether you were is scouts, dating his daughter or after dating his daughter it did not matter. Charlie and his family were always like a second family to me, one that has had a profound effect on me in more ways than I can think of. I think I can safely say that he is truly missed by all that have known him. I am going to camp this weekend to walk some of the trails we walked and relive some of those fond memories of our days together. My thoughts and prayers at this time of year go out to you his family and friends. A better place he is now and one some day where we will meet again.
I just now learned of your father's passing. I am so sorry. I remember him as a kind and gentle father. My thoughts are with you and your family.
We were so saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Charlie. His picture is exactly as we remember him from our years at Kitchener Citadel Corps. Truly the light and love of Jesus shone through Charlie. We always found him to be humble, kind, warm and welcoming to everyone around him. Our deepest sympathy and prayers are with Betty Ann and the family. Blessings.

It was always a good day seeing Charlie at Stage Door on my way to a concert or a rehearsal, quick with a smile and a joke. My condolences to the family!
Jody Davenport, KWS
We ever so fondly remember Charlie as the always smiling and welcoming presence at the stage door at the Centre in the Square. My husband and I would be gently chided by Charlie if we arrived a little too close to concert time. Charlie always had a few kind words for everyone who walked through the doors. Our teenaged daughter, who played in the youth orchestra for several years also remembers Charlie. He will be missed. Our sincere condolences.

You are missed here on earth but you have left many memories. Say hi to mom dad and Doug
Charlie was known to his brothers and sisters children as dear Uncle Fuzzy!! They would laugh and share their stories or adventures with him. As we look at the pictures and remember so many wonderful times, our hearts and prayers are with your family Charlie and especially with Betty Ann who was your partner and friend for many years. The family and their children will remember Charlie with smiles on their faces and wonderful memories in their hearts. Now in the service they mentioned about an angel...will charlie I just had to smile.
You will be remembered by all!!
May the love and support
of friends and family,
help to ease the sorrow
you are experiencing today
Our thoughts are with you.

Sorry to hear of Charlie's passing & Promotion to Glory. Will miss his smile and jokes - last saw him at Centre in the Square!
Betty Anne and family, I was so sorry to hear of your loss. I know you will all miss Charlie dearly, and my thoughts are with you.
My brother Andy and I, together with all the Scouts whose lives Charlie touched, will remember him fondly for the time he spent helping us grow up during those difficult early teen years. And, after all this time, I've only come to learn now that we also shared a passion for the same hockey team -- the Chicago Blackhawks! Rest in peace Charlie.
We are so sorry to hear of Charlie`s passing. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Like so many we were shocked and surprised to hear of Charlie's sudden Promotion To Glory! Charlie was a good man who lived for his family and a life of committed faith to hs God. Many memories come flooding back as I recall as a young boy Charlies zest and committment to many areas of ministry and fun at Kitchener Citadel Corps, now Kitchener Community Church. He was instrumental in coordinating the S.A. Emergency Respone team providing coffee and support to the firefighters, his passion for music as Solo Horn player and vocalist. Then there was the famous Kitchener Ciadel Hockey team as our winger and goalie Charlie wore the red "CITADEL" jerseys (not always red because of their design). He was our caretaker back on Gaukel street and then his imprint left as manager of the SA Thrift store for many years of his life. One cannot forget the deep passion he had for Scouting and developing the lives of so many young boys and men through this venue.I will always see Charlie as a man who served others and was always surrounded by many friends who enjoyed his stories, laughter and his constant smile. We are saddened by his passing and know how much he will be missed by his family and many friends. Our condolances and prayes are with this each of the family at this time.John and Shabnam Vos

Charlie was always lots of fun to work with at The Salvation Army Thrift Store when I was a teenager, and a good friend to me at Kitchener Corps. I am sad that he is gone but happy for him for his Promotion to Glory.
Charlie - you were an amazing man. You were a big part of my life for 18 years while growing up and you will be missed. I will miss your smiling face, greeting me and the kids at Centre in the Square, and always making me feel like part of the family. Rest in peace and say hi to Doug for me.
