"I recently found out about Larry and I want to express my sincere condolences to you and the family. Larry and I attended college together majoring in music education. He and I did our senior recital together and we continued to have a friendship that I will always treasure. May God bless and keep you and the family. Please know that a part of him will always exist in me. What a great man."
Lawrence Butler, Chillicothe, Ohio
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Mr. Tucker was a wonderful inspiration who used his love of music to teach us by his example the value of dedication and hard work; the importance of pouring your heart and soul into something that you love in order to make it successful.
These many years later I still quote him often and smile. My favorite: "It's like beating your head against the wall because it feels good when you stop."
He will be greatly missed.
- Barry Teague, PESH Band, 1986-1988
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. It seems like just a few short years ago we were neighbors and Mr. Tucker was my band director at school. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
May Larry's abundant life and legacy to the students and community remain a source of sweet memories in the days to come. God bless you and surround you with His peace and comfort.
Jason, Jennifer and Marion, the legacy of Larry Tucker lives on in the lives of the musicians young and older. His appreciation of music and ability to inspire so many is evident in our schools and families throughout Plano and beyond.
May God bless you all with wonderful memories of your dad and husband..
Sharyn Larson and family
You helped Larry and all of us scleroderma folks to push through difficulties while loving and laughing. I'll never forget Larry at the first scleroderma walk-weak but determined and smiling all the way. Peace to you and your kids as you move forward, Katherine Ryan+
Marion, Jason and Jennifer - what a privilege, honor and blessing it is to have gotten to know Larry and all the Tuckers through this journey with scleroderma. We are so deeply sorry for your loss and you all will be in our prayers through this time of grief. Please stay in touch, you are like "family" to us inspite of this horrid disease. I can picture Larry now, up in heaven making all kinds of music in a perfect body! God bless you all.
Much aloha - Gary and Cindi Brannum (Allen, TX)

Seven short years ago, Jennifer married our son Michael, and the Tucker and Penny families became one. During the years since, when we visited Texas, we were always excited to share time with Marion and Larry and we were always welcomed with open arms. I will sincerely miss our talks we shared together during the visits, and will always remember him as a loving husband, father, and friend. Rest in Peace, Larry, your time on this earth, though short, touched the lives of so many people in a postive way.
Marion, Jason, Jennifer and family,
Larry was a very special person who impacted my life and the lives of so many young people and directors. There was never a time that I called Larry and he worked out a solution.
He was sincere, genuine, and a man with high integrity. I know of no other man that was as positive and ready to help. Both his children are special to me because they work at Rice MS. Jason is following in his Dad's footsteps and Jennifer is following in her mother's as a teacher. What a legacy!
May God hold you all tightly in his arms and know he is with his Lord.
My thoughts and prayers go out to this family. Though I was in the band for just one year (1983 - 1984), the experience left an indelible impression on me. May God bless you and look over you Mr. Tucker. Thank you for everything you've done.
As a Plano East graduate, I remember band as one of the highlights of high school. Please accept my condolences at the loss of your husband and father. Mr Tucker made such a positive impact in so many lives. It was an honor to have known him.
My thoughts and prayers are with each of you. From wonderful childhood memories to admiration in adult years, Larry was a fine example who came from a fine family.
In Christ's Love,
Lynn Hasley Ward
Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Marion. Larry was a wonderful person and he was a great influence on me. His excellence in stimulating and challenging the minds of many in education is unsurpassed...he taught us with kindness, patience and care...he taught us more than music...he taught us life lessons and to strive for excellence...and I know he did so because he genuinely cared for us all. He will be missed but his knowledge and influence will live on in the many people he taught, met and loved.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you in this difficult time. He was a great role model for many people, young and old. He was my favorite teacher for too many reasons to list. We are all saddened by his departure, but we know that we will see him again! Praise the Lord for his love for Larry and us! May God give you the grace and strength that you need.

Thank you for all you did for the Panthers.
Marion,Phyllis, Mary, and Family, We are keeping you in our prayers during this difficult time. Larry was a great mentor as a Christian Man and a Band Director to so many people during his journey here on earth. I will never forget starting out with Larry in band at Goza Jr. High! Of course, Mac had the privilege of growing up next door. I have heard of some of their adventures of life in the country. He certainly leaves a wonderful legacy behind! Cherish your precious memories...gone...but, never forgotten!
May our God of love give this family mercy and grace as they go through this difficult time.
