I knew Clarence for a short while. We work at Norhtwest Fabrics and Crafts together. There's not a kinder soul to be found than Clarence. He was a blessing to all.
We will never forget the impact that Bro. Pope had on our life. Just after we got married, the Popes had us over to their home for Sunday dinner (tacos) just to chat! From that moment on, they became more than just another couple at our church. They became friends, mentors...family. We have three special items from Bro. and Mrs. Pope that will always ALWAYS be cherished. The first, a sweet ducky blanket they gave our son when he was born. To this day it is his favorite blanket. The second is a beautiful quilt they gave us for our wedding present. At first we were hesitant to use it because it was so special...but we soon learned that he intended for it to be used and that the more it was used, the more special it would truly become. The final item is a tiny plastic duck. My husband's groom's cake at our wedding was a tornado with a tiny plastic barn and animals swirling within the tornado. He took a duck off the cake and then returned it to us a couple years ago. Clarence the duck still sits on our dresser and will always be a reminder to us of what true selflessness looks like! I pray we can have half of half the influence he did on our life...and that our marriage will be as sweet and fulfilling as his was to Maydell! We love you both and are so thankful that we will all get to spend eternity together!
Uncle Clarence was a loving person. The phone calls were always filled with caring words. I will miss those calls, but I know he is in the arms of God. Aunt Maydell is a love and I always told him to give her a hug for me .Love to all the family
Everyone who knew Bro. Pope loved him. He and Mrs. Pope traveled with our youth group one year on a missions trip so they could cook for us - such a great memory that I'll always have of him. Such a loving and selfless man who will be greatly missed.
The Pope's marriage was such a testimony to Michael and I. Their love for the Lord was evident in their spirit-filled interactions with us as a young couple starting out. God Bless your family.
Your life was truly a selfless one. I will greatly miss your occassional phone calls to me just to see how I was and to tell me you loved me, missed me and appreciated me. You will be grealty missed, but I know you have a better view from where you are. Thank you for being my unconditiinal friend
