I TRULY MISS YOU AND THINK OF YOU EVERY DAY. I KNOW YOU ARE WITH GOD BECAUSE I CAN FEEL YOU WHEN I NEED SOMEONE TO TALK TO. I LOVE YOU MY BIG SISTER DAMARIS.
I would like to extend my sincere condolonces to Damaris' family, and I, on behalf of Damaris' Foster Elementary family want to thank them for allowing us to share and take part in this somber yet uplifting occassion./
I am one of many priviledged individuals who met Damaris in August of 2009. She and I immediately had a special friendship and connection.
I enjoyed every conversation we had, and especially enjoyed going over to her house to visit and watching her children be children in between conversations/
There is no doubt that we all know what a caring and wonderful person Damaris was.
I would like to share with you a short devotion that I read to Damaris her first night in the hospital at the inception of her illness. ---Before I do,---you need to know that I wasn't sure what to say to her that night because I know she was concerned...especailly for her children and family.----------All I wanted her to know was that we ALL were praying for her.
Before I called, I asked the Lord to help me say the right thing in a way that would express that we cared and that would bring her comfort.
This is the Devotion the Lord told/guided me to read: God, you have seen fit to bless me with so many wonderful things. My life has been filled with happiness and sadness, and I've learned and grown so much from both. As I wind down for the night, I cannot help but think about the blessings that even this one day has brought me. Thank you for the small events of the day, the little things that make me stop and smile and know that all is right in heaven, just as it is here on Earth.
Happy is the man, and happy he alone,
He, who can call today his own"
He, who secure within, can say,
Tomorrow do their worst, for I have lived today.
Damaris listened patiently and immediately calmly responded, "That is so beautiful....Thank you!"
I began to cry...ALOT!!---instead of me consoling and comforting her, Damaris said, "Don't worry...everything will be okay."
She assured me, consoled me, and comforted me. That is the person Damaris was.--She walked with the Lord and it was obvious she felt God's presence.
But for me...for all of us...everything wasnt ok. It wasn't ok until the Lord took her up to be one of his angels.---And now.....For her, things are ok. I still feel her presence and cannot wait to see her again and reconnect with her on a different level.
God Bless her family and friends who will continue to miss Damaris.
Damaris was a beautiful person and an excellent teacher. I'm blessed to have meet her and I know she is smiling down upon us. She will truly be missed. Her family and friends will be in my prayers.
Damaris Aranda touched all of our lives at Foster Elem. She was always full of faith and love. I am greatful for the opportunity to have crossed paths with her. God bless you all.
"What an honor to have known such a wonderful person. May God bless her family in this time of grief." -Yvonne Romero
I am thankful and truly Blessed for having had the opportunity to meet Damaris. Her Faith and Her Walk with God are a Wonderful testimony of her life as a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend.
I was blessed to have worked beside Damaris at Foster Elementary. I am saddened to hear of her passing but I know that she is no longer suffering. God bless all who knew her, for she was an angel on this earth.
I will continue to pray for your family. I enjoyed working with Mrs. Aranda at Foster Elem. May God bless you in such a difficult time.
