Dan was a great friend and neighbor. I missed he & Pat so much after their move about 3 years ago. We had a lot of great times together and Landon loved them so much. I have such fond memories of the times we had together. My last visit to his home in Louisville was last year right before Pat broke her back. I took Landon and Joyce and we really enjoyed that visit. Rest in peace my friend.

I was saddened to hear the news about Dan. The word to best describe him is Gentleman, in every sense of the word. He was such a nice, kind & special man. Some of my best memories of Dan were the times I spent with him and Pat at their Lawrenceburg home. It did not matter if we were there for Bunco or for a party (that my whole family was always invited as well), Dan loved having us there and always made everyone feel welcome. He was so proud of their beautiful home and loved taking guests for a ride on his boat. Pat & Dan were THE ULTIMATE Host & Hostess!! You could always tell they were having a great time and loving every minute of it. That is what made them so special and made everyone enjoy it as well. My boys have wonderful memories of going to Grandma Pat & Dans Lake House. They were always treated as one of the grandkids and had such great times there.

Every year, after Christmas, I looked forward to hearing of the crazy, cool gifts that Dan would come up with for his family. He was so creative!

After reading all the military information about Dan, I only wish he had not been so private about his military career and that I would have had an opportunity to thank him for his service and talk to him about all those metals he received. Oh and to hear the stories that went with those honors, what a treat that would have been!!

Yes, the news was sad, but now he is at peace and back with Pat, just where he always wanted to be. He was truly blessed when he met Pat and became a part of her family. Yes, a special, Gentleman indeed. He will be missed, but always remembered fondly!

Love Cheryl (& Family)
